America has a mass shooting problem that no other developed country comes anywhere close to.
Just making sure for the lurkers. These days!Sorry, I thought the weight of sarcasm was enough... but then it is hard to tell on RF sometimes...
The only thing messed up in America is the psychopathic youth and the politician that is opportunistic to gain power and control for themselves. We agree on that. America is messed up in many ways.
Cheers
What kind of affect do you think living through a mass shooting(s) has on a person's psyche? The only thing messed up in America is the psychopathic youth and the politician that is opportunistic to gain power and control for themselves.
Depends on the character and fortitude of the person. What kind of affect do you think living through a mass shooting(s) has on a person's psyche?
No it doesn't.Depends on the character and fortitude of the person.
Yep.A mass shooting is essentially a combat situation.
Yes it does and of course it's the psychopath that is doing it. Either born or raised I would say it's prudent to start investigating the recent surge in the numbers to get to the bottom of things. No it doesn't.
Yep.
So what affect do you think continual mass shootings is going to have (or is having) on the populaton? You've written off young adults as "psychopaths," correct? They weren't born that way, so how do you think they got this way? Could it maybe, possibly have something to do with the continuous and ongoing number of mass shootings plaguing your country and the society such events produce?
Something to think about.
No. "Character" and "fortitude" have nothing to do how one's brain and body react to trauma.Yes it does and of course it's the psychopath that is doing it. Either born or raised I would say it's prudent to start investigating the recent surge in the numbers to get to the bottom of things.
According to Scientific American it's probably both. You have both born and made Psychopaths. Not all of them necessarily bad but clearly not good either.No. "Character" and "fortitude" have nothing to do how one's brain and body react to trauma.
Psychopaths are made. Nobody is born a psychopath. There aren't little psychopath babies running around.
My point was that mass shootings are having a societal effect. You can't have a bunch of people continually experiencing such high levels of trauma without some sort of consequences. So the people you write off as mentally disturbed or whatever, got that way somehow. I'm suggesting that mass shootings are contributing to the mental health problem in your country.
Out of a population of around 340 million, we have somewhere around 380 million guns. So, what could possibly go wrong?
Probably because the left is always blaming firearms when the real problem is something else.
I think you're old enough to acknowledge that these problems just didn't exist in the past, and firearms laws and regulations were even less oppressive then as opposed to today.
Hell back then you could have your rifles on a gun rack in the window of your pickup truck in the school parking lot without any worries or care.
No the guns were never the problem. Something else is.
Last year I believe roughly 1600 people between the ages of 1 to 17 were shot. As I have stated before, 1 is too many but still...it's not like we're living in daily fear of a school shooting. Or at least most of us aren't, though I'm sure some are. There are many graduating classes that are that big! Pretty sure my high school was that big. Anyway, I just want to point that out. Otherwise I agree with a lot of your post. You know what's interesting to me? That my brother and I were both raised in the same house by the same parents but he's mentally ill and I'm not. And honestly, I believe I was the more "abused" of us too, but maybe I wasn't, who knows? No. "Character" and "fortitude" have nothing to do how one's brain and body react to trauma.

As I've stated before, I recently hosted a friend of mine from Germany, who was very surprised that there weren't gunshots ringing in the streets (he was also really surprised at the low percentage of African Americans because based on media coverage and commercials, he thought that they made up at least 50 percent of the population, but I digress).
Anyway, I've brought this up several times, but it's never been addressed - oh well.
That's true too. When you factor in the sheer number of the population , it's pretty obvious how low these figures really are.

You said that twice. Care to speculate?Probably because the left is always blaming firearms when the real problem is something else.
.....
No the guns were never the problem. Something else is.
Yeah, it is only five times our neighbor Canada and nearly twice that of Argentina that is one of the largest source of migrants fleeing intolerable conditions at home if you have been watching the news. That's true too.
Okay, you've said this before --- so why do you think America raises more pschopaths or others more willing to kill than other nations? Surely that implies some sort of deeper national problem.Probably because the left is always blaming firearms when the real problem is something else.
