It's not the firearms, that's for sure.
And yet, oddly, it's the only real difference between all those developed countries that have gun deaths rates much, much lower than the US. We all have similar rates of mental illness, we just have a difference in how many (and who) have guns. And the country with the most guns has the most gun deaths. Goodness, what a coincidence!

Of course you simply ignore the alternatives such as knives and gas and explosives and stuff.

And you ignore that they are all killing humans far less frequently, per capita, than the U.S. I would have thought a pro-lifer would be more concerned about the numbers slaughtered, actually. Apparently, I don't understand "pro-life" at all.

You seriously need to get an education on world affairs and you have no idea what you're talking about.

I await your explanation of that map with interest.

The map already tells you that information that we are not the only country with a high rate of psychopathy within each respective borders. I think you would also be interested in knowing that democrat-controlled states have the most psychopaths in our nation.

LOL It's the guns. and their easy availability. And gun fetishism.
You're the only country in the developed world with this problem.
It's the guns.

And it's not really a new thing either.

It's not the guns. It has never been about the guns. It will never be about the guns. People like to blame guns for things "some" types of people are responsible for. It's not about the people either. It's about "some" people. Not all people. "Some" people are "dangerous" with or without guns. "Some" people. Not "all" people and it's not "isolated" to Americans. Look around sport. Take a look at the middle east, Kosovo, Serbia, Yugoslavia, Russia, Palestine, Iran, Israel, S Africa, etc. It's not about the guns. It has never been about the guns.

When you factor in the sheer number of the population , it's pretty obvious how low these figures really are.

That's true too.
Don't let such nonsense mislead you. And remember that even 1 is far too many. :(

If you want the actual statistical significance of too much gun-related death in the USA, then consider.....

And if you were already deceived into thinking that less less regulation does not lead to more death ......then please look at the first graph/map, and consider which states are less regulated (hint: Red states).

This is hilarious coming from him. A survey of empathy being brought to us from one of the least empathetic people here and then concluding that psychopathy is because of lack of empathy. From a 2016 paper not linked and before even the first Trump administration. j

At least my points are far better then the absolute garbage tripe other people are putting forth.

We are a nation of psychopaths where guns have always been the standard , and we know what variable had changed here, don't we?

Why don't you go a decade or two earlier even and then tell me what the deal is.

There always has been plenty of firearms this country.

If you want to cry about regulation it's even worse now than it was earlier with less regulation yet with more psychopaths.

I'm not the one being 'deceived' here.

Partly why I finally had enough. Too many reasons why I no longer wish to dialogue with him.

t's not the guns. It has never been about the guns. It will never be about the guns. People like to blame guns for things "some" types of people are responsible for.

And the complicit - be it out of gross ignorance or gross irresponsibility - pretend that this fact does not cry out for universal background checks, safe storage laws, red-flag laws, and reasonable constraints on the types of weapons made available to the general public.

Instead, we get inane, pathetic quips about "it has never been the guns" while we enable the slaughter of children and live in a country where ...

Gun violence is among America's most deadly and costly public health crises. But unlike other big killers — diseases like cancer and HIV or dangers like automobile crashes and cigarettes — sparse federal money goes to studying or preventing it.
That's because of a one-sentence amendment tucked into the 1996 Congressional budget bill: "None of the funds made available for injury prevention and control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention may be used to advocate or promote gun control."
Its author was Jay Dickey, an Arkansas Republican who called himself the "point man" for the National Rifle Association on Capitol Hill. And for nearly 25 years the amendment was perceived as a threat to, and all but paralyzed, the CDC's support and study of gun violence. [source]

Again the subject of this post is another example of media bias and click bait not reporting exactly what he said.
What he really said:
“I don’t like that this is a fact of life,” Vance said. “But if you are a psycho and you want to make headlines, you realize that our schools are soft targets. And we have got to bolster security at our schools. We’ve got to bolster security so if a psycho wants to walk through the front door and kill a bunch of children they’re not able.”

above from: rom: JD Vance says he laments that school shootings are a 'fact of life' and calls for better security

Who is going to pay for all that and who are going to find all the persons needed to defend from an active shooter, train them and be certain that the school are hardened in a correct manner?

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
According to one site there were 2,959 reported rape incidents. Clearly, 1 is too many but still...it's not like we're living in daily fear of rape.

<sarcasm>

So, now that we've convinced ourselves that the damn pinko liberals are overreacting, let's talk about something more relevant. Anything good on TV tonight?

</sarcasm>
Well, the rape figures you quoted are nearly double the death rate of kids by guns. And no, though I am a woman, I don't walk around in fear of rape either.
