Vatican City rejects French Gay Amb

Monk Of Reason

༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
It seems that it is only presumed to be because of his sexuality. If it proves to be true then it is a huge step backwards to everything I thought pope Francis was doing for the Church.

Vatican suspected of rejecting gay French ambassador | World news | The Guardian

Vatican city should be respected in their freedom to reject homosexual amb.
I think they should be free to do so, as they are a sovereign nation, but this is a very hypocritical idea. Assuming that homosexual activities are "sinful", there is not one member of the Catholic Church who is without sin (according to the Vatican), so why exclude homosexuals when other "sinners" are welcome?

Maybe this is France's way of snubbing the Vatican.

Tom
If it is, it is a pretty successful way to do it. Either the Vatican refuses to accept the French Ambassador and they are publicly ridiculed about it, reversing the progress that Pope Francis has made over the past couple of years, or they accept the French Ambassador and lead a good example to Catholics everywhere. Either way, the outcome will be good for France.

Why do u expect Pope Francis to throw away the Bible?

No. We expect them to open their Bible to the part where Jesus says "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"; or the part where Jesus sits with the outcasts of society and does not judge them. And then to take lessons from that and apply it to their dealings with their fellow men.

For being Christ's representative on Earth, the Pope and his lapdogs certainly don't demonstrate any Christ-like behaviour.

As even Mohandas Gandhi is reported to have said (variously):

"I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ".

“Oh, I don’t reject your Christ. I love your Christ. It is just that so many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ”.

Whether he said it or not, in what form, it's nevertheless true.

That's one half of the equation but then Christ also said "go and sin no more".

21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times seven. Matthew 18:21-22

Right, but, as you said previously, everyone is a sinner. Every other ambassador, I can safely say, has sinned and continues to sin on a regular basis. Everyone (especially politicians) are guilty of this. Thus, it is hypocritical to single out homosexuals for exclusion.

Let's respect homosexuals' rejection of the pope.

Second question is totally irrelevant to me. But with those fierce and fabulous shimmery robes and presh little shoes, I'd say he's at least turned the door knob. :)

Lets respect Pope's rejection of Homosexuality lol.
Imagine if the Pope comes out of the closet?? Would he still be the pope?

We respect his right to make the call as the head of a sovereign nation but that doesn't mean we have to respect the decision itself. Just because he's a religious/national leader doesn't mean we shouldn't call 'hypocrisy' when it occurs.
