Violent Indictment

To be honest, I only know less than a handful of other Democrats, whom I met online, and none of them condone the violence committed by other people on the left. As a matter of fact, they all speak against it. While I can't honestly say that there aren't any Democrats who don't condone violence,

Of course there are some on the left. Personally I remember the wave of rage-filled destruction of cities after the assassination of Martin Luther King and took away that anger was no justification for destruction.

Are you for real?! America was a warzone for a few months in 2020. I was there and saw it myself.

The claim was that BLM was responsible for the violence not that there was no violence.

I was being facetious. But theft, vandalism, tossing ****, wrasslin' with cops, etc. isn't a very persuasive method of promoting an ideology.
I think the purpose ( not that I agree with it ) was to incite law enforcement to more excessive force justifying the calls to defund and reform.

I doubt these hooligans were attempting to give their lives for the cause. I imagine most were opportunists simply taking advantage of a chaotic situation.

Such destruction does not help - it just turns people off.

As far as BLM goes, I find the Heritage Foundation's extreme right wing ideology to have distorted what it was all about. There was a simple idea expressed by millions of people that blacks were clearly being treated differently than whites in many different areas of life including policing and that was a real problem. That's all.

Racists felt threatened by this disparity and went all in on snowflake whining about how badly they were being treated.

No. Thats not all.

Not when BLM founders tout openly they are trained Marxists.

You can't convince people who have invested so much in a lie with any amount of truth.
Yes, you can. It describes many of us who escaped the cult of Evangelicalism, and other cults as well.

I think the purpose was that people start listening this time. The problems of police violence and systemic racism have been known for decades. And for decades there have been peaceful protests. None of the peaceful protests had any effect. When people are nearly deaf, you have to shout louder.
