Voter ID laws

Not saying you but more people should quit complaining about problems and offer solutions to the problems. This ole world would bet better off by far.
I am all for solutions, but the solutions will not come if this law is not opposed. Republicans have done this in the past with the goal of suppressing the vote of poor and black people. They are highly unlikely to pass such a bill now that they have their version through.

I saw it. Do you realize why the Republicans passed this law?
Lets clear this up. I don't give two rats asses about democrats or republicans. Both party's only care about themselves in my opinion.

Edit. To them its only about the party, not the people.

Edit again. Over half of our government should be ousted. They have served too long. There should be term limits on any elected office whether its state or government. Change wont ever happen while keeping the same crap in the toilet.

It is a very poor analogy. We know the reason that you have to show your ID at a bank. People will take your money if it is not secure. No one has shown that people will take the votes of others. If voter fraud was a problem then you would have a valid point. But voter fraud appears to be a rare event. This bill takes away far more votes than cases of voter fraud. It is a miscarriage of justice as a result.

It is roughly analogous to being given a medicine that is more likely to kill you than the illness that it is supposed to prevent.
I think whether or not there is voter fraud, it’s just common sense that something such as voting would require ID. There’s nothing unjust or preventing legitimate voters from voting about that.

I think the last election was a circus

we should have required.....5years residence AS an American citizen
with ID in hand
in person
with voting staged 60days ahead to allow for vote count

yeah

I think we should demolish the two party system
require each candidate to compose a manifesto....publish that work
two years in advance

and then STAND to it if elected

Weren't you demanding an unbiased source? It is highly hypocritical to cite a far right source that only qualifies as "Mostly Factual":

Daily Signal - Media Bias Fact Check

And "common sense" is a frequent excuse of raciest. If you want to limit the ability of people to vote you need a valid reason. Not pitiful common sense.

The daily signal is a conservative American political media news website.

That makes it biased

And before you reply to my last post......

A religious website is biased when it comes to religion the same as an atheist website is biased when it comes to religion.
A left leaning website is biased when it comes to politics the same as a right leaning website is biased when it comes to politics.

That is reality.

That is true, but some sites are more biased than others. That is why it is a good idea to vet ones sources for bias.

I have been voting for over 40 years. I have always had to 1) declare I am a U.S. citizen and 2) show valid, current ID. So what’s the issue? That’s the way it’s always been.
I have been voting for over 40 years and I have had to show neither. The poll-workers have a list of eligible voters in their precinct, and as each voter arrives, they 'declare' who they are, and sign the register. The register already established their citizenship and individual identity (their eligibility to vote). And in all those years no one has ever pretended to be anyone else. Why would they? And even if they did, they'd have to know the person they are pretending to be hadn't voted yet, and won't be voting. And they'd have to only do it once in each precinct or the poll workers could recognize them as having already voted. It's just a totally unreasonable and unfounded probability. And it simply doesn't happen.

No, I wasn’t demanding an unbiased source previously. I said that all sources are bias. What should matter is whether the information is correct or not.
How does common sense become an excuse for racism? Seems it would be the opposite to me. I think if you throw common sense out we’re in trouble, at least you are.

Some sources are so biased that they are of no value in a debate, such as the one that you used. It was not only far right, but had a sketchy history when it came to accurate reporting.

People that claim "common sense" are almost always trying to defend an indefensible position. There is no excuse to use that argument in a debate. It is roughly the same as admitting that one is wrong. If your beliefs are correct they can be defended by reliable sources. Racists quite often say "It is common sense that blacks are not as bright as white people" or other clearly false claims. I would avoid that phrase. `Throw it out. If you cannot defend a claim it is likely to be false.

Here is an interesting site where you can look at the voter ID requirements for each state. I really don’t understand why Georgia is being singled out.

Okay, you may consider the source too bias, yet the article I linked for the most part contained direct quotes by by those against the Georgia voter ID law with only brief comments demonstrating those statements to be false. That’s all, easy enough to check out and verify. Then I also posted the Snoopes link for you to see that the claim repeated over and over again on all the major news outlets and by leftists politicians and yourself about prohibiting water being given out at polling locations was FALSE. Just leave out some pertinent information and spread a big inflammatory lie. Obviously, you believe it. So that tells me you get your information from the very loud, repetitive and bias sources without checking or questioning their reliability or truth.

Georgia is getting singled out for why voter ID is required. One has to be careful with the colored map at that site. It is not totally accurate. For example my state is almost exclusively vote by mail. When one registers to vote an ID is needed, but not after that for mail in ballots.

When a questionable source "quotes" those quotes are of no value without a link to the original source. One of the favorite ways of some people to lie is by quoting out of context.

I might have missed that. I posted a link that explains that it is true. You may be focusing on the wrong part of the Snopes link. Let me check that out for myself.
