I'm sure everyone will all agree that we are all born Muslim..
lol jk
In Islam everyone is born a Muslim and it is his/hers parents (along with social circles) that bring the child away from Islam.
The Prophet (saws) said that every child is born in Fitrah. In Islam this means a state of purity and connection to God.
When I say God I mean the ultimate force that gives us life not a bearded guy in the clouds.
In Islam it is not looked at as a religion but just the natural way of life. We are the worlds most looked down upon and knowing that raises me up.
The concept of the purity of a child has been given in God's former and later Faiths.
No child makes a decision about faith until the age of maturity where they get to decide.
This is what the Bible offered in relation to what it is like to be a child in Faith;
Matthew 18:3 "And said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
Thus it is plain all these verses are saying one must be like a child, yet to be influenced by what other men have offered about God and what scripture means. A purity of heart is what is needed above all else.
This must also the Quran meaning, as we must also take the Quran passages that say there is no compulsion in religion.
Baha'u'llah has comfirmed this view.
