I picked Dragon Age Origins back up. I didn't get very far into when I started it (not even invited to join the Gray Wardens yet), so there wasn't really anything to pick back up and relearn. But compared to the bit of Inquisition that I've played, along with other BioWare RPGs, though this is a pretty good game so far, I can't help but feel BioWare took a couple steps backwards. I also really wish there were more than six ability slots. But I have a really big puppy on my team!:D

It took me two goes to get into origins, but once I was into the Grey Warden story line I was absolutely hooked. I would trick my gf into going for a nap so I could play it lol. I also love romancing in bioware games as well. So much fun.

I find that origins and inquisition are not comparable, despite being in the same universe. They are both awesome in their own right.

I have a feeling I'm going to be replaying DA:O at least a few times. I'm specializing in Blood Magic this time, but the next time, if I don't play as a rogue, it will be to specialize in Shape shifting.
By far this is the best free game I've gotten to play with a PSPlus subscription.

I dont know if I could go the blood magic route...I would feel so naughty lol. My first character was a noble rogue and it was pretty awesome. I think being a mage is my favourite, as difficult as it can be.

I have done so many side quests and it has made me a bit overpowered :/ I end up not needing supply caches...maybe it is different if I play on something other than easy lol.

I am finishing my main character but I am going to start over with my second character once I am finished. I have a bad habit of creating new characters or restarting games before I ever finish the damn things.

Yah playing on easy makes most items powerful, even on normal okay items are fine. I play on Nightmare where certain items, along with the skill selection tree, are required to make a good tank. Most dropped items are horrible so crafting is the only way to go. Potion are still important but on higher difficulty its the armor, and upgrades like +guard on hit, that make or break the party.

I have that habit as well but for me it was due mostly to the DLCs I bought later and the patches. Also with so many specializations its hard not to want to create a new character to try out. The last patch nerfed Knight-Enchanter into the ground so I lost interest

I keep messing things up when it comes to that. Such as, in my current situation, I'm the type of gamer who has to do everything, and this is having a tendency of pissing off Morrigan. Not enough yet that she refused to teach me shape shifting, but enough that she likes me a little less with just about everything I do. The only one who actually does love me is the dog.

I would totally peev off a couple of companions but I would make it up to them with presents lol.

Because DA:O is apparently a very glitchy and buggy game, I found out it is possible to both unlock blood magic and kill the demon. I found this out because at first I thought my controller broke because I could do nothing except move my character around, press select, and move the cursor around on the map. Nothing else was working. After using a second controller I realized it was the game, then googled some stuff to see what was going on. So I am a blood mage and Connor's soul is in no danger. But I don't care either way so long as I get to use walking bomb on something, enjoy the spray of blood and gore, and have my puppy lick me clean!:D
I don't think an RPG has satisfied my thirst for digital blood thus much since Vandal Hearts, which is about the only thing I remember about it (that, and some really cool spell animations).

Are you sure that isn't due to the overlap between saves? If you unlock BM in one play through its unlocked for the rest on the account you use. DA:I has a similar system for items. I forget what the item that unlocks this is called but once you have it you can start unlocking items for new games. This works well for the Trespasser DLC as you can't get every item from the DLC in one go. Some items you can only use for the rest of the game using the item unlock.

The Mage specs are horrible honestly, except for AW. If I do not play an AW I just pick specs for the bonus stats and ignore the skills in the tree. Maxing out lightning, fire and ice AoE skills does more damage than anything the specialization provide.

Same things with DA:I. A pure mage without a specialization still does more damage than other setups. Fire tree with mines maxed out is enough to drop even elites, not bosses, on normal.

I don't think it was, because there was no overlap yet, and I read it's something that apparently happens, and even on PC the game is prone to the controls going unresponsive (it seemed to be, from what I read, more common on PC than console).

I was wanting to try AW, but I also like having a back-up supply of something to power spells once my mana is low. Even though it is based on D&D rules, which I like, I do kind of wish there was a higher level cap so I could try more stuff in one run through (although I have heard you can go higher than 25, it just takes a long time to do). From what I've read of different ways to build the mages, they seem to be capable of any class I would normally play in an RPG, including magic-using melee classes, summoning classes, shape shifters, or pure magic.

I just came across the website for a Freespace 2 mod for the Babylon 5 universe and learned it doesn't require the vanilla game to run like most mods do. So I've downloaded it and spent some of today blowing up Raiders and splashing Minbari fighters on the Line from the seat of a Starfury.

Good times.

You play Neverwinter too? Neat!! :D
I tried. But when I went to sign up, it told me my email account is a "throw away" (or maybe the word was "junk") email and it wouldn't let me sign up, and I didn't feel like cycling through a ton of name and number combinations until I found one that isn't used to get an account on yahoo or google.

Have you tried hotmail?

This Blade & Souls seems to be fun, so far. The chat seems to be pretty much taken over by bots though. It even has a class that seems to be very similar to Astaroth (giant axe weapons and fighting style) from the Soul Calibur games.

I've been derailed from DA:O and I've been putting time into Blade and Souls. It's pretty cool all the different stuff you can do with so little on it. Holding people above a fire-trap sort of move as it roasts them is pretty cool!:D
I just wish it had more than the game play going for it.:(

I was right about me not spending much time on Onigiri. Not only have I not played since I got back to it, I already forgot about it and it took me a second to remember what the game is when I saw an email about it concerning new content.
I'm going back to DA:O now and downloading Lineage 2 to try that one.

I just learned of how capable XBMC for the classic XBox is. I've had this whole time, and never knew that I could use it to stream videos and even watch Youtube on my XBox. I also didn't know XBMC evolved into Kodi.

Like I said sounded like the overlap between two games. If you unlock X class in one game its unlocked for all. I've never seen this sort of bug on PC.

AW is not a classic mage mostly due to level restrictions, you can not get all the skills you need to Tank and the best of the firework at once, like all 3 large AoEs, nor a great balance of stats since you need some Dex and Con rather than Will. AW is a true specialization which changes how the class is played, geared and skill selection. So its not so much a mage but a warrior that uses mage skills as augments

There is actually an update for my Xbox firmware, UnleashX. Or so that's what it's telling me. It gets to about 99% then says it can't retrieve the data.
And I'm finding out it's been long enough since I have used a FTP to load anything onto my Xbox that I have forgotten how.

I now have YouTube, TED Talks, and some other video services on my old XBox.:D
I still can't believe though I've had this for some time now and I'm just now learning what all XBMC can actually do.
