Doing laundry, dishes, have to bring a bed frame and a shelving unit in from the building. Icing my back in preparation for the labor involved.

I'd rather be traveling/birdwatching

I'd rather not be doing the things I need to do this morning.
Maybe you could pay off some large birds to move it for you?

I don't want to do my laundry and dishes, either.

Just been for a keno (Kinesiotherapy) session, arrived home half an hour ago and am now making a fry up dinner. Chips (fries), scrambled eggs, fried mushrooms, fried tomato and fried sausage or fried veggi burger. All good healthy food.

What would you rather not do?
Believe it or not, I've just opened this thread and I'm sitting in a cafe...eating cake.
Would rather be eating cake. No wait, I am.

I am sitting at my desk, waiting for it to be 10am, when I am to be interviewed by a grad student on a topic pertaining to their dissertation.

I would rather be lolling about at home, posting on RF.

I would rather not, well, I'm having trouble coming up with something for that. There's not really anything I'm faced with that I'd rather not do. I suppose I am rather privileged in that way this morning.

Waiting for a fish pie to cook.

Would rather be eating the pie.
Funny time of day to eat a fish pie. But that's student life, I suppose. I haven't made a fish pie for ages. Perhaps I should do one this weekend....

A couple of days ago my son texted out of the blue to say: "I seem to have these squid tentacles. What do I do with them?" Job lot at Morrison's, I imagine. Or maybe Aldi - they have random things on special offer so it could be that.

I hope he does something good with them! I didn't know they were sold at supermarkets.

The fish pie was the best thing I had in, but I do so love them :)

I'm sitting at the kitchen table with my daughter as she works on her homework. I'm here if she needs my help.

What would you rather be doing?

I'm happy to help my daughter. I don't want to be anywhere else right now.

What would you rather not do?

I'd rather not have to rake the leaves in my yard, so I'm going to ask my kids to rake them for me.

Nor did I. I'm just guessing - maybe he got them at the fishmonger, but it seems odd to choose something you don't know how to cook. Anyway, as he doesn't have a griddle pan to grill them, I suggested dusting them in seasoned flour and frying them briefly with garlic and chopped red chillies. Would go with rice and a stir-fried veg.
