Might be to obvious, but Zelda.. I don´t know many on the PS2 though, I am more a pc player for RPG´s.. Not because of the gameplay, but the titles I guess. I am more a 3D RPG player nowadays.

What's Dragon Quest IV like?

Oh, and what sort of RPG are you interested in? I might be able to provide a recommendation or two, considering that RPG's are pretty much all that I play.

Ignore what cardero stated about the cutsie RPG games. Popolocross was a cute game and I liked Dragon Quest DS version. I am waiting for the price of Dragon Quest V to go down a little more. I liked Dragon Quest IV. It didn't take me long to finish. Maybe 2 weeks since I take it to work or play it when I am home. Sometimes I would skip sleep and keep playing. If I like a game, I can't seem to put it down. That's why I prefer portable games. Golden Sun 2 was also one of my favorites. If you can recommend a portable game, I would appreciate it.

Cardero did mention that I only like Digaea when he plays it. It's not really a game I would play. My brain can't hold that much capacity...:D

Get Chrono Trigger right now. The game is great, the soundtrack is beautiful, and it's long enough to be interesting while being short enough to not be tedious. A total classic. I have only played the SNES version before though.

Thank you Rojse, that would be appreciated. I can honestly tell you that mrscardero likes the cute "stumpy anime" turn based RPGs and she prefers to go portable. She has access to both a Sony PSP and a Nintendo DS. Her first RPG was PoPoLoCrois and she has been looking to recreate the experience. I suggested both your recommendations for the Nintendo DS Pokemon series and PSP’s Disgaea: Afternoon Of Darkness. She watches me play Disgaea and she calls it “chess” which I guess in some ways it is. She enjoyed Dragonquest VIII: Curse of the King for PS2 and it inspired her to the Dragonquest Nintendo DS series. I have been trying to get her to purchase ChronoTrigger (Nintendo DS) but we thought we would wait for the price to go down.

Stumpy anime turn-based RPG's?

Sounds like MrsCardero should look at the early Final Fantasy games, either on GBA or on an SNES emulator of some description. I highly recommend Final Fantasy V, but I am sure MrsCardero would enjoy any of the first six FF games.

Currently alternating between Pokémon on DS, the original Phantasy Star on the SMS emulator, and Katamari Damacy. Whatever suits my mood.

Finished Disgaea: Hour Of Darkness (PS2) at 196:38 hours and was thinking that I would begin Final Fantasy XII.

I got myself fallout 1 and 2 now as well. I know you can see the 3 stories as standalone, but I just needed to know more of the wasteland :p

In fallout3 I am doing my second time, this time as evil psychopath!

Yeah I have 1 and 2, playing the first one again now(trying to make a good character for a play through), Well now I only have 2 more Achv. to go. The one for getting to lvl. 20 had an evil character and the one for making at lest one of each of the 5 custom weapons. Broken Steel comes out May 5th, so close yet so far away.
If you also want more Fallout you should find a way to also get Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel.
If you every want to know more about the Fallout Universe here is a good site: Fallout Wiki - The Vault

How do you define finished, Cardero?
Last level, defeated boss, (thought I got a bad ending ) rolling credits, extra tag ending (that brought more meaning to the finale for me), fade to black while holding on the word "Fin".

I would say that’s game over.

For some people, that's far from over..
different storielines, extra quests, items, etc..

I thought it would ask me if I wanted to save a slot at the end and continue exploring the rest of the game but this wasn't an option. At close to 200 hours and after asking the world of me to prepare for the final battle, I would say that at this moment, I couldn't devote anymore time. The next time I venture into any Disgaea series again, it will definately be on a portable system.

Disgaea 2 on PSP is out in Japan, and I expect it will be released in Europe and America in a few months.

And with your skills from playing Disgaea 1, you should find it somewhat easier to play.

Still playing Fallout, mostly 3, I'm working on a Maxed out build type character.

Same here..Without costumes that is, I do not wish to give up DR for stats..
Level 13 here right now. My computer is surrounded by papers about perks, books, bobbleheads and quests..
My character is about as maxed as possible when it comes to small, big and plasmaguns and is very high in science and lockpick (Still need loads of books to make it 100 though)
Now I am slowly building up my sneak, repair, barter and all the other stuff I actually do not need.

Yeah, with the way I'm working it I'm using Intense Training to raise most to high states then getting the Bobble Head. Doing this with a 4 INT. yeah state it at 3 and run to Rivet City right away and get the INT bobble head, if done right you only need a 4 to max out all skills. I'll start a thread about Fallout 3 character builds and we can all share.

Is taking you long enough allready :D

Btw, I am going evil this time and for me this is the first RPG in where I have the feeling I can become stronger by going lightsided :run:(Or that it does not matter)
