I can't help it. Fall out 3 opened the door for me to RPG/FPS and since then I am addicted.
Beside, when I still played TF2, I couldn't decide between the sniper and the engineer.. If that is your choice, you need to search for something else.. :p

My choice is any class :D prefer soldier/demo/scout/medic though :)

Yeah, well you would have to see my problem here.. Since CS I have been sniper. Long distances and a small dot on the opponents head..
Suddenly a game enters and I just love to support... What the...!!
From loner to support.. I just couldn't take it anymore..
I was totally out of balance..

lol. Match play is even worse. Go frag chasing and get out of position your team can lose pretty easy. Most team oriented game I've played. Still hanging out for Natural Selection 2...

Google is your frend Don :p

Am predicting MW2 will have 0 player base with PC gamers within 2 weeks of release...

1. No dedicated servers (10,000 pre-orders were cancelled after this announcement)
2. If the host of a game leaves there is a 5 second delay while the host is transferred to another player
3. No console for graphics tweaking and gameplay adjustments

See here for more detail...

PC Games-
Q: Can anyone recommend a good 1st person shooter game which is in the thick of a battle, rather than too many buildings, but all out battle field action? could be future, present or past time setting/theme?

Q: Also what is a good alternative to Age Of Empries 3, with the same level of fun and interaction?

Thanks!

LOL, if I would understand, I am almost certain I could help :p

Thick of battle means you want to shoot many bullets rather than strategic play?
Too many buildings means it must be in the forest instead? Or you don't want to walk miles to get to action?
All out battlefield means you just need a battlefield 3?

Thanks Cardero
I looked online Sersious Sam looks fun, wikipedia says:

"The series' gameplay involves huge number of enemies, large, open areas, and various hidden rooms and treasures. The levels in the games are massive, depicting vast plains, deep valleys and the exterior/interior of the monuments of different human civilizations. Monster fighting makes up most of the games"

Fantastic! :)

I played the first Age of Empires, so I assume you mean another good Real Time Strategy game.

Warcraft, any of the original three games. The first one, released in '94, is subtitled "Orcs and Humans." This one's for the real retro-gamers, as it hasn't aged too well. The second game was subtitled "Tides of Darkness," and was a significant improvement. It received later an expansion, "Beyond the Dark Portal." The third game, "Reign of Chaos" focused heavily on story and combat, and is very fun to play, and the story is, in the TRUE sense of the word, Epic. It really flows with the same kind of length and character depth as an old Epic poem. It, too, received an expansion, "The Frozen Throne," which is a sequel of sorts, and while the story isn't as strong, the gameplay is still solid, and in some ways improved. (This expansion is where the multiplayer shines... just not in standard battle.net; get a mod.)

If you want a more realistic approach, you can't get much better than Stronghold: Crusader. In that you have to not just defeat the enemy, but manage the Castle, as well.

If you want to go futuristic, Starcraft all the way.

If you want a turn-based strategy game (along the lines of a board game), ANY of the Civilization games. (Though II and IV are my favorites.) Unlike the first Warcraft, the first Civilization aged fairly well.

Hi Riverwolf
Thank you, lots of options you provide.
I thought World of Warcraft was online only, I assume you said "Warcraft" as the earlier games were perhaps more PC only? Starcraft and Crusader sound good. I will get googling. :D

I bought the Civilisation IV complete, but I didn't like the turn taking feature, where you have to click the button and wait for three turns (or similiar) I obviously haven't played it much since then. Pehraps there is a trick to enjoying it more?

thanks!

"World of Warcraft" is the online RPG that takes place after the events of "Warcraft III." Warcrafts I, II, and III are RTS games along the lines of Age of Empires, and is made by the same people who did Starcraft. (Warcraft actually came first, though.)

Well, maybe turn-based strategy games aren't for you, then. That's okay.
