Nonsense.

It has a great deal of history in it.

Nope, fact
Any good fiction will contain some factual information, in the case of the bible any historically accurate writing is incidental, i.e, towns that existed, some ancillary names that have verified 3rd party evidence to show they existed. There is no historical validation for either of the 2 main characters, the two your FAITH is based on

If there were historical evidence then you would have no need for faith

Sure, Christ-deniers believe all kinds of nonsense like that.

But the Talmud is not scripture.

Enjoy your semantics
Yet the Talmud which is a highly valued Jewish work does say that JCs dad was not god.

Do you realise how obnoxious this makes you sound? Christianity my-way-or-the-highway is pushing more and more people away because its adherents are essentially just throwing **** at other faiths and then complain when they feel victimised. Perhaps instead of just coming across like, 'OH NO NO TALMUD! TALMUD IS JEWISH NONSENSE WAA' maybe you could actually explain why? Maybe you could also demonstrate some familiarity with the Talmud before you start ranting about it, but I doubt you can because if you did you wouldn't be spouting rubbish like this.

God's Word in the the Tanakh pushed people away. There have always been what God described in the Torah as the "stiff-necked" people. They are alive today and continuing to kick God's Word and Jesus the Messiah to the curb.

And if you need a primer on how sophomoric the Talmud can be, just go ahead and supply the historical evidence that backs up Jesus' father being a Roman soldier? Don't just cite the claim again, but provide solid evidence that the claim is true.

I didn't cite anything. The Talmud only seems sophomoric to you because you've never studied it.

I didn't say the text pushed people away, it's your hostile attitude to any religion not Christiaity.

Bull. I have two degrees in Biblical theology and I have studied it. That's how I knew there was no credible, back-up evidence for that "Roman father of Jesus" claim.

And by the way, there's numerous contradictions in the Talmud.

In a Christian setting, not a Jewish one.

LOL. My, my, look who's being judgmental !
I am not being judgemental, you are coming across in a way that is offputting to others by being obtuse and putting down others' religions. You could have just said 'Sorry, I don't believe in the Talmud, but it's OK if you believe certain portions of it that claim a Roman soldier was Jesus' father', but you didn't, you came off as passive agrressive.

Not impressed.

Yes i have the same contempt for your fictional books that i have previously refuted and cannot be bothered repeating myself just because you cannot be bothered to actually check your sources

I'll challenge you on your "fictional" books (New Testament) claim. You throw around the word fictional as if you have some solid examples to back up your rhetoric.

So, show me your BEST ONE EXAMPLE (1 - JUST ONE) of a fictitious person, place, or event in the GOSPELS. Cite the pertinent scripture(s) and make your argument (provide your evidence why it's fictional).

Let's see that bad boy.
