You're good in my book.I've occasionally been informed by members of certain religious traditions that I need to be saved from something. What is it that I need to be saved from?

Gnosticism, Orphism, forms of Hinduism and some other religions have salvation teachings.I'm not aware of any religion that teaches that one needs to be 'saved' apart from Christianity.
I was aware of Gnosticism and that's it for those. Still, I wouldn't say the first two are widely known, recognised faiths. Or at least, not here.Gnosticism, Orphism, forms of Hinduism and some other religions have salvation teachings.
Orphism is an ancient Hellenic mystery religion founded by the mythical poet and musician, Orpheus. It was influenced by Dharmic ideas and is similar to Gnosticism. They worship Dionysus as a savior deity.I was aware of Gnosticism and that's it for those. Still, I wouldn't say the first two are widely known, recognised faiths. Or at least, not here.
How can you be confident that you believe in the Truest one if this is the case?I am not either, however I'm not aware of the full beliefs of other religions.

Correct.
If you do not believe in Jesus, God or eternal damnation, there is little likelihood that you shall be saved; because to be saved, you must believe.

My non-Jewish wife would say Gefilte Fish. She's been known to leave the room when I open up a jar.Matzah. We need to be saved from matzah.
@Quintessence I believe God saves a person out of tribulations that would cause the believer to lose faith. Therefore, if a person does not possess the faith in the good God will do, then there would be nothing to save that person from.
To you sir yes, I understand your point; however for me, I strongly believe in what Christianity stands for.It is funny how ridiculous Christianity sounds when you start to break it down.
Yourself? That's what my parents told/taught me.
Matzah. We need to be saved from matzah.

It is all a bunch of monkey poo, don't buy into it.
I think this is worth expanding on because most religions who have the 'save from yourself' don't actually mean it that way. Rather save you from the thing that's preventing you from being yourself. Your true self. Be it sin, Satan, Ha-Satan, Thetans, Ego and Disunity or in all cases things which are considered unnatural or suboptimal. And most don't actually think they can save you, only that you can decide to be saved. Though most also believe they need to make you aware of the danger or suboptimal thing preventing you from being yourself. Why would someone need to be saved from themselves? I mean, you can't be anything other than yourself. If you believed you needed to be saved from yourself all the time, wouldn't that encourage such immense dissatisfaction with one's own existence that it would lead to mental illnesses like depression and possibly resolve in suicide?
I love trees. At school when I was really young the teacher read us a poem about how trees wave when it's windy and the tree narrating the poem was upset because no-one ever waved back, so I started waving back at them.Unless it involves trees.
I am confident that I am Christian if that is what you ask; I know some religions believes, however I cannot state I know all the beliefs. How can you be confident that you believe in the Truest one if this is the case?
