What Happens When You Die?

I have no attachment to dust, as you do.

The more you struggle to escape its iron grip, the more it will become a reality for you.

Try banging your head on the wall til it bleeds....then say it ain't real.

Oh!....that's right!
I've made that suggestion more than once!

Ever get around to it?

It's all a Big Act, perfectly executed, and you believe it. Just think. Your life is ruled by dust. :slap:

I had a dream like that. I thought I was dreaming but wasn't sure. There seemed no real way to tell. So I thought I'd bang my arm against the wall. (wasn't really certain enough to do the head thing.) Figured if it hurt I was awake. Well it hurt. Pain is pain. I still (rightly) felt it was a dream. However I decided trying to injure myself to prove it was a dream didn't work and it only caused pain.

I've had events where upon waking....I was partially numb.

On one occasion altogether unfeeling and unresponsive.

So I don't have the need to bang my head to be sure.
I use a clear minded logic.

(I realize my choice of words puzzle certain participants)

I banged my head against walls, chopped myself up into bits, ran myself through meat grinders, drowned, jumped from tall buildings, shot myself full of holes, chocked myself, slept on beds of nails, walked on hot coals, self-mutilated, etc.

Then I woke up.

Jeesh!

Well......don't expect me to follow you!

Oh! So THAT'S the problem, is it? You're looking for someone to FOLLOW! Well, checking, we currently have one of two scenarios available:

1: You can bang your head repeatedly into a brick wall until it bleeds, as the guru, Thief, has suggested as a means of determining what reality is, or...

2: You can have yourself crucified in the manner of one our previous teachers who allegedly ascended into Paradise. But you won't know that until you're dead.

(Option 3: I forgot. There is one more option. You can wake up from your dream and live in Reality right now. Few choose this obscure path as it is just too obvious a choice for many. They'd rather have their fun in self-mutilation and tomfoolery.)

Not at all.
I post repeatedly....I follow no one and no one follows me.

So...as my Inspiration did say....
Where I go, you cannot follow....but you will....later on.

HA!....maybe you WILL wake up in the next life!
Maybe I'll be there to watch the fun!

So why did you allude to not following me? That implies a need to follow someone.

I doubt it. You'll be too absorbed with your pet fetishes: dust and the grave....and, oh yes: nun seduction.

(Uh...what's preventing you from waking up NOW?)

Jesus in me
Time does not exist.

And the rest of my previous post stands.
I don't see your crap is better than mine.

I realize that proving the null hypothesis is difficult but why would one ignore the fact that people perceive time as existing. It doesn't seem any less likely than the fact that the number "1" exists. I will grant that it isn't likely to have a physical existence but I believe not all of life is about the physical things.

We'll be memories, for some.
We'll be spirits to some.
We'll be forgotten by almost all.

Jesus in me
Enlightenment is not a belief. It is enlightenment because the conflict within ignorance has been resolved. Ignorance is suffering simply because the mind does not see things as they are; it does not understand what it thinks is a conflict, where no such actual conflict exists. The enlightened mind sees that there never was a conflict to begin with. This applies, as per the discussion, to the seeming conflict between good and evil.

I do not see this as enlightenment but as ignorance of what is really there. It is like saying "see that dead body; it isn't really dead because there is no life or death."

I am reminded of a skectch that appeared to me to be a fox but was supposed to depict the face of Jesus. If I changed my perspective I could see the face of Jesus also. When I could only see the fox I could claim the face of Jesus wasn't there but the reality was that it was there and I just couldn't see it yet.

I can see harmony in good and evil but I am not blind to the conflict because of it. For instance a swordfight has a great deal of hamony but it is still a conflict.
