I like Tim Tebow, I think he's a great role model.

I'd still think he is a pompous bigot and still wouldn't have known how to pronounce his last name until I heard on the radio today.
He would be thanking the very same Abrahamic God.Then he would thank Allah for his success. Other than that I don't see much difference.
I'm a Christian and don't feel that way at all. I think your judgmentalism is very telling.

This. I may not completely agree with how he expresses his faith in public, but he certainly doesn't seem to deserve all the hate he is getting.Let's see - professional athlete, no criminal record, opposed to drug use, openly expresses his respect for women, Heisman trophy winner (first homeschooled athlete to earn that award), zero paternity suits or rape allegations (unlike so many professional athletes), raises money for orphanages, works with the Dreams Come True foundation and the CURE Foundation, started the Tim Tebow Foundation, Timmy's Playroom (playrooms at hospitals) as well as many other philanthropic endeavors.
What a terrible guy - surely worthy of disdain!
Most people in this thread so far have indicated that only a vocal minority would have any real problem with Tebow-- hardly painting with a broad brush. Personally, I think the biggest difference if Tebow were a Muslim is that he would not be hero-worshiped as he is now, even if he was still doing all those other great things Kathryn mentioned.Funny how all the Christians who have posted some how do not see a problem here.
There are ignorant people of all beliefs but some how non-Christians love to paint us all with a broad brush.

Everyone has critics, that is what makes this country great.
Yeah!
And in the spirit of competition, I bet I have more critics than you... :flirt:
I think that Tim Tebow might have a good chance to become a Congressman as a Christian, but no chance as a Muslim in most places in the U.S., and no chance of becoming a U.S. senator as a Muslim, or a U.S. president as a Muslim.
So, regardless of what people say, many of them would consider Tim Tebow much differently if he was a Muslim. Mitt Romney is a Mormon Christian, and millions of evangelical Christians would never choose him over other Republican presidential hopefuls, much less a Muslim. When John McCain ran for president, he said that one thing that he liked about Sarah Palin was that she had the same religion that he did.
Millions of Christians consider Tim Tebow to be part of the family of God, the same family of God that they believe they belong to. They would certainly be more pleased if he was a Christian than if he was a Muslim.
When Russia was a part of the Soviet Union, the Soviet Union usually won the most Olympic Gold medals. How many Americans rooted for Russian athletes? Certainly very few. It is human nature to be clannish, and show favoritism, based upon all sorts of criteria, including religion.
Those are some of the bloodiest battles.I am lost here?
I understood there was a religious class system in America, and lots of schisms, but wasn't aware they separated out the Christian schisms too.
No way, I'm the black sheep around here and you know it.
