Maybe a lack of religion would be ideal.

Hinduism/Buddhism.
I wasn't beign that serious, but i will fight my corner...Perhaps...but again much of the mythology and pantheon is incompatible with empirical truth, which for me is the fundamental aspect of a true religion, a search for truth.
I am a scientist by trade yet I feel a common belief and unity of purpose would help galvanise all of us into acting holistically and responsibly.
I just dont like any religion I have yet tried to understand...thats the problem!
Specifics in each Booko, almagamated they are a kaleidoscope of perfection to the mind that can glimpse it.
I find they are all parochial in some way, I think there needs to be a universal context, that even a creature from another galaxy could appreciate...maybe thats going too far...after all its all about perceptions and don't they vary in extremes on just one planet?
Well, they all arose in times that had specific needs for the time and place they began, so that explains some of the parochialism, I think.

Greed might be a good unifying theme, as it is something most people partake of when given the opportunity. Issuing Tazer's to the "faithful" might also be a good idea for the times that their attempts to convert others fall flat. Their theme could be, "What's the buzz... tell me what's a happenin' ..."What would constitute an ideal religion, assuming all religions should have common ideals?
