What Is Justice?

True Justice is when the divine intellect, which uses logic and reason, and the wholeness of spirit, which are ones justified emotions, are in harmony. Vengeance is when, logic and reason are replaced with falsified intellegence and unjustified emotions. This is not balanced or centered. Vengeance leadeth to more vengeance. Until, there is no one left to stop the continuous contention, strife and ill justices that plague all those who are left without any way to defend their rightful self.

OK. So how is escalating punishment justice as opposed to vengeance?

And how do we do that in the case of murder, for instance?
Determining the perceived transgressor; punishment for the perceived transgressor; reparations for the grief of the the family and friends who lost a loved one; keeping and maintaining proper record so that future generations can know the truth of what transpired.

In this instance.

Edit: What Sunstone called "remedy" is justice.

I think we can all agree that justice is something we should strive for, but what is it? What does justice look like? Is it an eye for an eye, or is that outdated? If it's outdated, what do you think has or should have replaced it?

IMO there are two kinds of justice. one of them is personal, noone could escape from himself and would make himself pay for it.

the other one is what helps us live together in a society. this one decides between two sides. even the best system would make 99% of decisions 'correct' and 1% would be false, because there are liars. however they could not run away from themselves. thank God!

Justice is this world is an illusion. It is as deceptive and unjust as those who make up the illicit laws...that set the stage...for the unwholesome justice...which is shoved down the throats... of those who happen to fall into the tyrannical hands... of the militant enforcers of the unjust system. These individuals are nothing more or less than guns for bribe or hire, by those who have no true regard for the helpless souls whom they have trampled on. These individuals... for the most part... do not want to hear the gospel of the true law taught... because they refuse to accept the fact that they are hired hitmen for the unlawful goverances and their militant mobs.

And yet, the "unlawful governances and their militant mobs" are people.

The helpless individual or individuals who were the victims of the barbarian were the ones who were wrongly punished. The barbarian used unjustified and therefore unlawful punishment and torture. Beheading is not cruel or barbaric. I would wish it for myself, if circumstances were reversed.

Justice is the equitable distribution of goods, resources, and services.

Theocracy is a system of goverance based on theory, or opinion. The Just Law is not a theory or opinion. It is Truth, Righteousness, Merciful Judgment and Healing Justice. It is the only way to genuine peace.
