They're not called the alt left, that part is made up.

The Alt Left would be the ones that are using the symbol for anarchy while smashing business and car windows, setting cars on fire, throwing bottles and rocks at the police, and chanting "not my President," all because their candidate lost an election. They are anti-government (other than their view of it), anti-Republican, and prone to violence.
In what way does anarchy categorize 'the left'? It makes sense that an anarchist wouldn't like the president but seeing as how the peaceful protesters are talking about violating rights of government through discrimination against women, gays and racial minorities, how in the world would anarchy fit into the extreme of that political spectrum?
The anarchists aren't attached to the left. AltRight IS attached to the right.

Don't play dumb with me, I provided three links about Bannon's white supremacist ties, you can go back and read them.
I see a lot of claims & links.
Chasing them down, I find they often don't support what is claimed.
And since you've been just a teensy bit over the top since the campaign
began, it's very likely I skipped what appeared to be infertile ground
(which wasn't even directed to me).

Oh don't pull that.
The old asking for cromulent evidence as part of a cogent argument?
But I like that!
He runs a website that has run article referring to someone as "renegade jew" and marginalized women and the lgbt.
He loves the confederate flag and has proclaimed it as a symbol to be looked upon with glory.
Don't try to act like "white nationalism" is anything but supremacist.

While the conservative media has framed him as a "provocateur", I think you'll find that's a nice way of saying complete jerk.
The above are all claims.
Remember what it is that I like.

the alt-right became a new thing to fuel the liberals hatred, because we all know how tolerant and kind liberals are.

And since the liberals are now focusing their hatred on Steve Bannon is a good indicator that he's a swell guy. :)
What is it with you and liberals, Jak? You're projecting all the intolerance, hatred and conventionalism typical of conservatives onto liberals. Your characterization of liberals is completely backwards.
Yes, and he was projecting his own warped psychology onto them.
Conservatives project. It's hard wired.

Could this apply to anyone we know?:
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.

A movement of racialists who claim to be the epitome of the rational and freethinking.
Most followers are either coming out of ancap youtube or the new atheist (aka regressive atheist) movement on youtube which has switched it's focus from religion to social justice in the pursuit of ad money.

The alt right essentially passes off all existing hierarchies as the natural product of genetics and culture (similarly to the nazi's) instead of actually putting any thought into evaluating material conditions. They are racialists who deem capitalism and the free market to be a perfect meritocracy who will cite people from Ayn Rand to Adolf Hitler, depending on who you have the unfortunate event of talking to.

Where do you get this notion of it being an atheist group? Everything I have seen says the opposite.

They might not hold with your notion of christian values, but I've seen nothing to make me think they are atheist. These guys tend to be of the 'gods, guns and beer' persuasion...

I prefer the guns & beer without gods crowd.

People who cite both Ayn Rand & Adolf Hitler?
They're about as opposite as 2 people can get.....
Atheist v Xian
Capitalist v socialist
Libertarian (small l variety) v authoritarian.
I suppose there might exist such an animal on the internet, but it would be either insane or a Poe, & no doubt an outlier which doesn't represent any significant school of thought.

Me too, so long as there is no confederate flag flying high over the patio.

I prefer to keep my ignorance under wraps.
I fly no flags, but my ignorance is in full view.
Btw, I once had a penguin flag, but sunlight eventually killed it.

I said the same way people defended Hitler, not defend Hitler, past tense vs present tense.

You just disproved a theory of mine.

For the longest time I thought you had me on ignore. Lol

How did people defended Hitler? I'm sure they did but how?

I was referring to the huge youtuber's I was seeing backing the movement. I don't know so much about the average person. Theology isn't very important it's just that that is the ""rational"" community on youtube.

Ah okay.

Doesn't matter much,
Perhaps not to you.
But
Both are capitalist.
There's something we'll have to disagree about.
Hitler even named his party after his socialistic form of authoritarianism.
Oh boy. I wish you were right.
The subreddits are growing on the day and there is an "anarchocapitalist" convention now.
How many do they number?

There should be a warning notice supplied on all computer screens.....

Hitler was not a socialist, he sent socialists to the gas chambers.
