And for the rest of you on this kick about how much an ("evolutionist".......) Biologist makes....Don't focus to much on that because you'll quickly realize they don't really make that much... {/quote] Tell me about it!
No one goes into science to earn money, at least no one who understands the reality of being a scientist! (admittedly it would be nice to make enough to pay for the educational bills)

Hell, we spend half our time trying to figure out ways to keep our out dated equipment running because we can't afford anything new... Duct tape and epoxy are our best friends. LoL
But hey, keeping the old equipment running means they can pay me to work for a while at minimum wage so... :jiggy:

I'm sure you're mistaken, Penguin. If a creationist uses the term, it must be right. Kind of like when they use the term "creation science". If you type it fast enough, some people don't even notice the slight of hand.

I would say some accept some of it... there are many who refuse to accept any of it... including rudimentary speciation and decent with modification.

Unfortunately true. A while back I tried to show a fellow creationist that evolution, meaning change in allele frequencies in a given population over time, happens all the time resulting in micro-evolution (adaptation) and even speciation. But despite everything said by me and others, he refused to even accept micro-evolution.

He was young (still in high school), so I think it had to do with just the conditioned distain for the very word 'evolution', and not so much what was actually proposed, and he was too young to notice the difference. At least I hope I'm right about that, the alternative would inescapably be a darkened chapter in the evolution of human understanding.

Perhaps you did... but an important part of my studies as a biologist has been the history of scientific development, including in depth study of the history of evolutionary thought.

as you said... and the implication is obvious.

I have done "a little" research beyond the "colloquial".

Exactly. Just like when they try to slip the word "kind" passed us.....

Perhaps because you are still using "microevolution" and "macroevolution" in creationist ontological terms. As if they were two separate and different things.

For biologists, there is no relevant difference between microevolution and macroevolution. Both happen in the same way and for the same reasons, so there is no real reason to differentiate them. When biologists do use different terms, it is simply for descriptive reasons.
Macroevolution is merely the result of a lot of microevolution over a long period of time.

I agree completely with your analysis of micro/macro evolution. And when I talked to this young person I did use the terms as described above, but almost no talk was given about macro-evolution though. Once he stated that he didn't accept any change at all (even within species) any talk about macro evolution (speciation) was completely pointless. And there were evos who talked to him, the most notable being a TE who had a degree in ecology. So even if I used the terms incorrectly, there were knowledgeable evos who would have corrected any misuse of the words.

I would like to add Communism.

It claims to get rid of the rich, but the party bureaucrats just fill that gap left by them killing others.
