"The first to return will be Imam Hussein, peace be upon him. Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, was asked: "Yes, who will be the first to emerge?" He said, "Hussein, peace be upon him, will emerge following the Qa'im (the awaited one), peace be upon him." I asked, "And will all the people be with him?" He replied, "No, rather as God Almighty mentioned in His Book: *'On the day the trumpet is blown, you will come forth in crowds'* (Quran 78:18) - group after group."

He said: "And the Day of the Appointed Time is the day when the trumpet is blown with a single blow, and Iblis (Satan) will die between the first and the second blow. As for 'Nun', it was a river in Paradise, whiter than snow and sweeter than honey. God Almighty said to it: 'Be ink,' and it became ink. Then He took a tree and planted it with His hand — and the hand here means power, not in the anthropomorphic sense that some might think. Then He said to it: 'Be a pen,' and then said to it: 'Write.' The pen asked: 'O Lord, what should I write?' He said: 'Write what is to occur until the Day of Resurrection.' So it did so, and then it was sealed, and God said: 'Do not speak until the Day of the Appointed Time.'"

Al-Qummi: Volume 2, page 245 - Ahmad ibn Idris narrated to us, saying: Ahmad ibn Muhammad narrated to us from Muhammad ibn Yunus, from a man, from Abu Abdullah (Imam Sadiq), peace be upon him, about the saying of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted: "Grant me respite until the Day they are resurrected." He (Allah) said: "Indeed, you are of those who are granted respite until the Day of the Appointed Time." He (Abu Abdullah) said: "* * * The Day of the Appointed Time is the day of the appearance of the Mahdi, peace be upon him.

(1814 - Imam Ridha, peace be upon him): "There is no religion for the one who has no piety, and there is no faith for the one who does not practice Taqiyya (dissimulation). The most honorable among you in the sight of Allah is the one who is most committed to Taqiyya." He was asked: "O son of the Messenger of Allah, until when?" He said: "Until the Day of the Appointed Time, which is the day our Qa'im (the one who rises) from the Ahl al-Bayt (the family of the Prophet) will emerge. Whoever abandons Taqiyya before the emergence of our Qa'im is not from us." He was asked: "O son of the Messenger of Allah, who is the Qa'im from among you, the Ahl al-Bayt?" He said: "The fourth of my descendants, the son of the mistress of the maidservants. Allah will purify the earth from every injustice and sanctify it from every oppression through him. He is the one in whose birth people will doubt, and he is the one who will go into occultation before his emergence. When he emerges, the earth will shine with his light, and the scales of justice will be placed among the people so that no one wrongs another. He is the one for whom the earth will be folded, and he will have no shadow. He is the one who will be called to by a caller from the sky, and all the people of the earth will hear it, saying: 'Behold, the Proof of Allah has appeared by the House of Allah, so follow him, for the truth is with him and in him.' This is the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Exalted: 'If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled' (Quran 26:4).

From Al-Kafi:

Regarding the verse "Then when the Trumpet is sounded" (Quran 74:8) - it refers to Gabriel calling out the name of the Mahdi, peace be upon him, three times.

[1906 - (Imam Baqir, peace be upon him): "The Trumpet (al-naqur) is the call from the sky: 'Indeed, your guardian is so-and-so (the son of so-and-so), the one who rises with the truth.' Gabriel will call this out in three hours."]

Ibn Sa'dan, from Abdullah ibn al-Qasim, from al-Mufaddal ibn Umar, said:

I asked Abu Abdullah (Imam Sadiq), peace be upon him, about the interpretation of Jabir, and he said: "Do not speak of it to the common people, lest they spread it. Do you not read the Book of Allah, the Exalted: 'Then when the Trumpet is sounded'? Among us, there is an Imam who is hidden. When Allah wills to manifest His command, He will place a mark in his heart, then he will emerge and carry out the command of Allah, the Exalted."

Jabir narrates from Abu Abdullah (Imam Sadiq), peace be upon him:"By the night when it covers" (Quran 92:1):Imam Sadiq said: This refers to the reign of Iblis until the Day of Resurrection, which is the day the Qa'im (the Mahdi) will arise."And by the day when it appears" (Quran 92:2):Imam Sadiq said: This refers to the Qa'im (the Mahdi) when he arises.

Abu Abdullah (Imam Sadiq), peace be upon him, regarding the verse of Allah, the Almighty:"Then when the Trumpet is sounded" (Quran 74:8):Imam Sadiq said: Among us, there is an Imam who is victorious and concealed. When Allah, the Glorified, wills to manifest His command, He will place a mark in his heart, then he will emerge and carry out the command of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted.

At the house of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari:Mu'adh asked: O Messenger of Allah, what about the verse of Allah: "On the Day the Trumpet is blown, you will come forth in crowds" (Quran 78:18)?The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Mu'adh, you have asked about a great matter. Then he shed tears and said: Ten groups from my Ummah will be gathered separately, distinguished by Allah from the Muslims and their appearances changed. Some will be in the form of monkeys, some in the form of pigs, some with their heads inverted and their faces dragging along the ground, being dragged upon them.

I admit some of these hadiths do support day of judgment being when Qaim rises, but it contradicts the Quran and also many hadiths about day of judgment as literally understood by Muslims.

I should make a thread showing literal concept of day of judgment per hadiths as well.

This also an issue of epistemology. Imams (a) said to refer hadiths to Quran and reasoning. But they said to use them to interpret Quran. Of course a person can by their caprice refuse to accept hadiths when it contradicts their caprice even if Quran softly confirms them and also emphasize on hadiths that contradict Quran and reasoning where it suits their caprice.

How to know God truly means something. Part of this is being grounded. Being grounded and humble to God's words and not take his words way out of context.

Otherwise there existed fabricators who tried to make Imams (a) look irrational and misattributed them lies.

Hahah, How did your Imams interpret Unseen?
Do you know?
They related to the proof and sign, to a degree Quran says it can be hidden by God and to a degree manifested by him. But the context of Quran shows that part of is belief in Imammate in the unseen to the extent it fights off dark magic of Iblis and sorcerers. This can be seen by the flow of the Quran in Surah Baqara which is the only Surah to mentioned "and they believe in the hidden" and only in this Surah is the detail of Bani-Israel following sorcery attributed to Sulaiman (a) mentioned. It's the Surah that mentions Ibrahim was promoted to leader while we know Prophets and Messengers are all leaders as you can't bring a message without leading, so this leadership is the type that takes the role of pole magnet type unseen guidance and refers to the command of God and authority of God vested in them. So by flow, it refers to faith in the reality of God's Authority in terms of light which can be see also by flow of the authority given to Talut (a) and the Kursi (seat) of God that encompasses all things.

This is also the only Surah I believe that mentions the belief in Angels as article of faith which is linked again to unseen start of it. There maybe one other mention, but this chapter really emphasized on it.

The Taghut and Jibt we see in classical works such as Suyuti show it to mean "the sorcerer", and there are a lot of Du'as of Imams (a) teaching to fight black magic. You should take a look at for example Du'a Ehtajab of Imam Ali (a).

And also the Imam is a light in the unseen and his light is bight as the sun in midday for believers per hadiths. This is also especially in praise of the followers of Imam Mahdi (a) while he is hidden.

وَيَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَفَزِعَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ وَكُلٌّ أَتَوْهُ دَاخِرِينَ | The day when the trumpet is blown, whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified, except such as Allah wishes, and all will come to Him in utter humility. | An-Naml : 87

This shows all will be humbled towards God on that day. This confirms that there is no denial of it occurring as well.

In Baha'i view, Day of Judgment is not a literal 24 hours day.
It is an Age of 1000 years, which is the length of Dispensation of the Qaim.

There is a Hadith in Bihar alanwar, which is lengthy one that Abu Basir narrated from Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.). The Hadith is lengthy, so, I only quote the related part:

"....He has informed us of the length of the day of Resurrection. It will be like a thousand years in your reckoning.”

Basically the verses of Quran give signs about the events that will be fulfilled during and by the end of the 1000 years period.

For example

"The day when the trumpet is blown, whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified, except such as Allah wishes, and all will come to Him in utter humility". | An-Naml : 87

In this verse, the Quran predicted that During the 1000 years period, there will be great tribulations so much that, it will be so terrifying. This is because the majority of mankind reject the Qaim, and thus they will face a great suffering which is just the consequence of their own actions and vainglory. However, eventually after the greatest punishments, they will become humble, and all will come toward God in humility.

Bahais believe eventually all will believe in Baha'u'llah.

"When the victory arriveth, every man shall profess himself as believer and shall hasten to the shelter of God's Faith. Happy are they who in the days of world-encompassing trials have stood fast in the Cause and refused to swerve from its truth." Baha'u'llah
