The common one is in Leviticus I think.
And yes, there are more important things to worry about. Which is why I personally don't worry about it.

Nothing wrong with gays whatsoever. I neither have a religious or secular reason. Any problems that there would be would be existent in heterosexuality, as well. From a secular standpoint, the problems would be medical. From a spiritual standpoint, it would be about discipline (not indulging the pleasure every time it pops up, but only when appropriate, which would vary depending on one's own personal path.)

Ok I won't get into the religion part but you didn't give me a natural reason....... Maybe because their isn't one! I've made my point.
The beginning of the chapter which contains that infamous verse says something about "the following things have corrupted the land" whatever that means. I don't put too much stock in that book.

I may be missing something, but there is no religious reason why being homosexual is wrong other than the bible. And even then the Christian reasoning should be of love and compassion, anyone who has a problem with homosexuals is only redirecting their own issues.
In terms of what the bible even says about homosexuals I don't see any difference than any other type of fornication sin, like sleeping around before marriage or divorcing your wife for unjust reasons. They are all sins that are forgiven by the grace of God.

I know, which is why I said that any problems would exist in heterosexuality as well.

One of the biggest reasons people don't get to know Jesus is because of the people who claim to be his disciples. I honestly can say I feel sad when I hear someone refuse His teachings, and anger towards a person who falsely uses His word.

I would be one of those people. My family shunned me because I became a vegetarian when I was 15. I became an atheist shortly after.

Thats a really great video, and it made many valuable points. I have been trying to understand the issue of what do we do with sin, the sin that is around us. You and I may disagree on what we call sin, but it does force me to evaluate where I stand and how that stance is supported by what I have faith in. Thank you for the video.

What is wrong with gays? Lemme tell you a story. I'm hetero, I'm over my buddy's house, he's hetero; he's got this guy over. He ain't. He's homosexual and he wants everybody to know it. He's got his hand in his pants, he's making alla kind of lewd suggestion; he's making eyes, 'cause a boy named ellen, kinda pretty, ya know? I'm outta there. Tell my buddy, I ain't ever coming back, this fella around.
Now what do I do? Support gay... whatever. Because I learn from my experiences. That story above may be offensive, but it is real; if I have something to say, what better method of saying it, than through the core of my being? That I was offended; but then I asked myself, what was offensive?
What was offensive? Built-up stereotype in the back of my mind like festering plaque. Put the toothbrush of reason in there, scrubbed that crap out. What was left, was the consideration that my ethical standards do not approve of such forward sexuality. I was just as offended when this girl bared her breasts in my house after some offhand comment. By removing stereotype, I was able to learn something of myself; not based upon bs double-standards, but by questioning my emotional response.
That's what is wrong with gays. Built-up stereotype. I'm all "pro-gay" until the festering plaque of built-up stereotype is scrubbed from the collective consciousness. Then they can just be people; we can get to hating on 'em for who they are, not who we imagine them to be.
And I got some bottom-line on this issue. To my left is a picture of Gwyneth Paltrow; she's all married and stuff, way over there, which is cool. But here, she is my sweet everything; you can stereotype me any way you want or not at all, but get between me and my Gwynnies? :biglaugh:
Which is to say, it is about real simple math. One, for one. Help me here, what is "real punishment?" Solitary confinement, no? So a measure of compassion would be to allow one not to feel alone, no? Then, what's with all the bs politics? If gays were allowed to live their lives; they wouldn't have to be defined by their sexuality.
