Who was outraged and burning candles for him? You see it's all so hypocritical. John Mc cain could have been the one who supplied these so called islamists when they were in Syria last year. It's confusing now isn't it for Westerners knowing what rebels are the good ones and what ones are the bad ones and who to arm and who not too. Gaddafi and Assad were right. The USA and it's allies were arming 'rats and cockroaches and Al Qaeda'. Their citizens fell in line with the Western media and now they seem to be realising that Gaddafi and Assad were right all along and the Americans and Israelis and French and British were stirring a hornets nest in backing insane salafist groups. they knew exactly what they were doing. The USA still refuse to back El Sisi in declaring the MB a terrorist group even though they know full well they are terrorists.

You can freely make fun of Jews in Paris, there is a wealth of hilarious cartoons related to Judaeism, hate speach and the freedom to draw cartoons are different things. Shouting anti-semitic slogans is not making fun.

Western governments have undoubtedly contributed to the problems we are now seeing. Yeah, it's complicated.

But I still don't want some religious nutter setting off a bomb on a train, or spraying AK fire all over the place.

It's incredible what double-standards go on in the world depending on the situational views that comfort the onlooker during such outbreaks.
PEGIDA have been shunned by the left-wing as, quite frankly, racists. Yet, we see Charlie Hebdo, a highly offensive weekly magazine, being commended as an organization that stands for "free speech" and upholds "Western" values. Why can people not make up their minds instead of being mindless drones?

Like I said in another post, I don't know enough about these satirical mags etc........ I've never even bought a Private Eye.

It's time that I had a look about to discover how many there are, and what kind of limit which they might set upon themselves.

I bet you a kit-kat and cuppa that the UK is positively 'nice' compared to some European outfits. Well, we are, aren't we........ I hope so.

It's pretty simple. Armed bands of assassins imposing their sense of justice for perceived violations of their value systems, no matter what those are, have no place in civilized societies which have appropriate systems to govern themselves, such as checking hate speech and whatnot. They are not the appointed judges in that society. And if they don't like the government, then they need to find another country where they can rule as warlords through oppression and fear.

They are a threat to all within a free society, and need to be removed, one way or another. What this is is a war on civilization by those ill-suited to participate in one. It is an attempt to overthrow modern systems of governance and turn back societies to the time of warlords. It is not about the religion like rape isn't about sex. It's about seeking power over others. They are in effect simply rapists.

If a man with a face mask ran into a restaurant shouting anything I'd probably be freaking out. If a man sat down at the table beside me and said "Allahu akbar" over his food, to a companion or on the phone in a normal tone of voice, I wouldn't freak out.

Oh, come on. Surely you must have noticed that these lunatics have a penchant for screaming "Allahu Akbar" at the drop of a hat.
One must assume that somewhere Islam is involved in their thinking. To pretend that there is no connection to Islam worth noting is somewhat bizarre. To cast aspersions on folks who notice this penchant, as if there is something wrong with their taking note, is inane, if not outright dangerous thinking.

Besides, noting they yelled "God is great" while merrily rampaging the area adds a certain "je ne sais quoi" to the comment. In simpler terms, "A group of deranged fanatics stormed a building, killing many occupants, while yelling God is great."

You don't think the utter starkness of the contrast is worthy of note? Seriously?
