What justification can there be for the Paris massacre?

BSM1

What? Me worry?
You tell me. Here are your choices:

A. The restaurant in located in downtown Tehran.
B. The restaurant is located in downtown Little Rock.

A masked man in black barges in screaming in Arabic. Do you tackle him or hit him with a chair in both scenarios?

I seriously doubt if I will ever eat in a restaurant in downtown Tehran by design or downtown Little Rock by choice. However, to address your point, someone yelling "Allahu Akbar" at the top of his lungs would probably not seem out of place in any restaurant in Iran.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
please note the terrorists were heard shouting 'allah akbar' after they did it! terrible so terrible

There is no justification. All it shows is apparently there is a toothless and helpless " god" that cannot punish or exact revenge on it's own so it needs psychopaths who enjoy killing people

Can I ask what you base this on?

Oh, come on. Surely you must have noticed that these lunatics have a penchant for screaming "Allahu Akbar" at the drop of a hat.
One must assume that somewhere Islam is involved in their thinking. To pretend that there is no connection to Islam worth noting is somewhat bizarre. To cast aspersions on folks who notice this penchant, as if there is something wrong with their taking note, is inane, if not outright dangerous thinking.

Besides, noting they yelled "God is great" while merrily rampaging the area adds a certain "je ne sais quoi" to the comment. In simpler terms, "A group of deranged fanatics stormed a building, killing many occupants, while yelling God is great."

You don't think the utter starkness of the contrast is worthy of note? Seriously?

Seriously, these Muslim animals were shouting "Muhammed is avenged!" while killing people. But it has nothing at all to do with Islam. Sure, tell me another.

Did someone say it had nothing to do with Islam?
I feel like you're telling yourself stories.

Lots of people take exactly that position though, claiming it had to do with "politics", while completely ignoring all of the heavily religious context of the actual event.

We know nothing about these killers. The fact that they "forget" id card in the car makes this whole thing suspicious. As if they want to say: hey, u need to find this guy. He is behind the attack. He and his brother came from Syria.
Perhaps he and his brother were killed in Syria and rumors were spread that they returned.

Anyways if they were muslims, i wished they stayed patient and done nothing.
Their stupid action harms muslims more.
Allah swt tells us to be patient when disbelievers insult the religion.

please stop bickering. this is a serious event. france is in mourning!

And as terrible as it is, France should never have allowed the Muslims to become as powerful in France as they did. Hopefully this will be a lesson for the rest of Europe.

Dude muslims are not powerful there.
French people are 65 million, only 5 million of them are muslims.

How can three muslims who killed the journalists be representing 5 million muslims? Are u feeling well?

Comments here don't affect that for the good or the bad.

So you think an disadvantaged group is LESS likely to engage in terrorism? How precisely would you avoid "allowing" any particular group to have power?

"Religions" are not all of a piece, anymore than are religious people. Some have done those things to a great degree, others not at all.

I am not going to get into discussion of the Israelite wars surrounding the advancement of monotheism over monolatry, because it's irrelevant. It happened over 2500 years ago. Judaism has evolved, as, I trust, have other religions as well.

Plenty of non-religious philosophies, political causes, and plain old nuttiness have been used to justify terrorism also. The implication that it is "religion" that is the cause of terrorism or violence or war or whatever is idiotically reductivist and simplistic, and I believe you are too smart to believe that implication yourself.

It is not in the least simplistic.

The religions "may" have evolved, - however - they are using the same religious books, and still claiming they are the word of God.

The people at the top have agendas, however - in this case - they use the Qur'an to bring in their understudies from all over the world, - to commit these acts of terrorism.

That means the ones doing the actual attacks - are BELIEVERS.

And that means the counter, - has to be from Imams using the Qur'an.

And of course that creates a problem - because of what the Qur'an actually says, and the history of the Islamic people.

No, they were not.
One person thought that one of the gunmen called out 'The Prophet is avenged' outside the building as the gunmen made their escape.

Look........... stop making up rubbish and stick to facts.
Your pre-judgement and possible hysteria are helping to conjure up stuff that did not happen.
Yes, I feel sure that the gunmen were Muslims, but remember, 6 million Muslims did nothing!

We need to figure out how to stop this terrorism, and quite frankly, - it is going to have to be the Imam's of the Islamic religion themselves, - proving the terrorist's ideology is wrong, and NOT in the Qur'an. A hard sell by the way, as all of the Holy books of the religions of Abraham, have followers "righteously" killing those who believe differently, - for their Gods.

Anyone have any ideas?

In this instance we need to support the Charlie Hebdo magazine. We need to show those who think the can use terrorism to shut down freedom of speech that this will not work.

I think we need a major world wide media campaign that shows that these kind of terrorist attacks do not work, they do not shut down free expression. They do not promote the cause of Islam. They do not dissuade western nations from military actions. They do not change foreign policy, certainly not the way terrorists want them to.

I do believe there are lots of Muslims who condemn these actions, and lots of leaders in various Muslim communities that condemn these actions. Let's get them on tv. Let's do lots of "PSA" ads. World wide. Show that these kind of terrorist acts do not achieve anything.
