What Offends You?

What offends you?

What does your religion/philosophy say about being offended?

Do you think people are too easily offended?
somewhere in scripture .....it is written

beware of those.....easily offended

Correct. I don't mean soul when I say Atma
I see Atma as the waterdrop in the ocean of Brahman, but of course the waterdrop (Atma) is no different from the water/ocean (Brahman)
As far as my view goes, perfect. 'Drop' in the perceived world, 'the ocean' at the level of absolute truth.

Very high standards here are expected from my Faith.
Too difficult for most people, so we move somewhere else. All that false talk of love and peace is nauseating. You want to prove all other religions wrong, deficient. You only want that we should get our nose cut. Pretenders galore.

Some misunderstands the virtues of love, but this sums it up with incredible insight:
1Co 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not brag, it is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 it does not behave inappropriately, it does not seek its own way, it is not provoked, it keeps no account of wrong,
1Co 13:6 it does not rejoice over injustice but rejoices in the truth;
1Co 13:7 it bears all things, it believes all things, it hopes all things, it endures all things.

And the same scripture say people who are easily offended, are fools, and those who take the facts into condideration, are intelligent.
Pro 12:16 A fool shows his irritation immediately, but a prudent person overlooks an insult.

Now, step away from the fact that it comes out of the Bible.
It is a fact that only people with a very low IQ gets offended. I always notice how the successfull individual just ignores bad slants, and continues with constructive dialogue.
IT IS AT THAT STAGE WHEN the offended person starts to get crazed and even shout, scream, and become violent.

Noooo!
Please keep on offending me, for I know who and where you come from if you do.

I think the world has turned stupid. It is as if the petrol lead poisoning over decades, and plastic residues have damaged the majority of the world's population's brains, and we all are hating those persons who are still keeping everything together.
We want to see the destruction of those who keep economies running, providing food and health, and employment.
We want them destroyed, because in our damaged IQ and part of our brains covered in plastic, we reason that we can do it better, even though we dont even possesses the faculties to barely understand basic economic principles, and think it is not My mistake working for minimum wage.

We have the idea that we are somehow victims of poor education, forgetting how we gave the educaters a hard time, and tried to be this rebel to which no authority will have the capability to oppress us, totally forgetting that it was your opportunity to achieve high school education. thereby working for peanuts, and blaming the boss.
We forget how we partied, made sluts, became **** makers, made, or became pregnant, and left the child to its own demise, to follow in our poverty.
Then we blame the social construct, and somehow it now becoms the governments' accountability, and the taxpayers' liability.
We forgot how we never accepted authority, such as the teacher, and the school prefects, even our parents, now we blame the police for arresting us for crime.
We think we are these social warrior judges, who knows more than the prosecuters, judges, lawyers and legistative institution of ofr country: which gives us the right to run amock in public, burning private propperty, killing innocent perple, demanding the jury and judges to ignore any law, but to do as we tell them. Due Dilligence does not exist for us, because we know better!

Hey, and dont talk back or tell us we are wrong!
Thats' an INSULT TO US!

It's an interesting and useful question:
a) Someone who offends lacks empathy
b) Someone offended does not accept it
The problem is not "too easily offended".
The 'problem' is that the offender lacks empathy

Saying to the other "you are too easily offended" happens nowadays a lot, because many lack humility, having emotional issues to "say sorry", hence choose to not take responsibility for his words and or actions, resorting to blame shifting

FIRST the offender 'hits' the other person
NEXT he blames the other who defends himself

Textbook narcissistic behavior nowadays
The taking of offence – or feeling offended – often involves an experience of negative emotions caused by a word or an action which is in conflict with what we expect and believe to be the right, appropriate, moral and acceptable behaviour.

I call it "blame shifting", happens a lot nowadays. Can be easily proven wrong. People only can handle baby steps to improve thelselves, but take giant leaps going wrong. Best to correct minor transgressions, saves major ones later

Having said that, the wise don't 'feel' offended, but act on it, as if feeling offended. Solving the problem 'feeling' offended afterwards

People want to change the world but are too lazy to change themselves. No need to change the world, just change yours. If all 'just did that'

*** Physical hurt heals in weeks, emotional harm destroys for life

What more I need to say?

Nip at the bud. Condone (not teaching) now
regret later. You even sleep better at night, knowing you did right. No need to change the world, just change yours. If all 'just did that'

E.g.: If a woman dates a man
brushing aside the small 'signs' she might end up marrying the man offending her later by raping (big 'signs) her (physical or emotional***), she better stops the man at once, instead of thinking "I should not feel too easily offended" (dangerous slogan)

What offends me? Buying a book I want really, really, REALLY badly, and then it being too difficult to understand.......

Also buying a book from Amazon.com and it being only half the book, the first half and them never telling you about that. Pay full price for half a book?! Why not just sell me the dang thing in toto?

Some who thinks they know all about the Bible, and mocks everyone else for not seeing it the way they do, and laughing and harassing someone who sees things differently.

Preachers who preach love, but do anything and everything for money, and only are decent on Sundays.

What REALLY offends me are all the idiots in my country who STILL think Donald Trump is President and will never not be, and so want to do everything they can to make trouble for our country by making it difficult for the current President to function. I don't mind you being mad about Trump losing, but to continue making it hard for the current President that affects all the rest of? KNOCK IT OFF. There is more to America than your own petty cares.
