What should the West do Now about Islamic Terrorism?

It's obvious S.A. has/did have a very violent racially motivated and violent, political,
recent past.
This thread is about violence/terrorism.
It ain't all radical Islam.
The U.S. had it's nut cases that blew up abortion clinic but nothing on the scale
that we see from Radical Islam.
Note: RADICAL, not all of Islam.

Yes and this violence (in SA) was perpetrated against my people. So of course I condemn both it and anyone who would try to justify it.

Racism at it's ugliest best suppressing entire indigenous people.
Those who practiced apartheid STOLE the land, it's resources and enslaved

Nelson Mandela was a true hero.
So was M.L.K.
I'm a white, male, conservative, with a modicum of sense.
Being as I was 8 years old before I learned I was different from the other kids
I grew up with has something to do with that.
One of my "cop brothers" learned I grew up in "da hood" called me nothing but
white trash.
Sooooooo, this white trash smashed his trash mouth for him.
I've become much less reactionary in my advancing years.:D

My first "girl friend" was a black woman I grew up with.
She had a withered leg due to polio. (what is polio? it's wiped out now)
I took her on a carnival ride because she couldn't hang on by herself.
The "white folks" gave me plenty of dirty looks.
Bastages.

You may be skeptical of them if you wish, it doesn't matter. But it doesn't take a genius to realise that human beings (many of them at least) are greedy. It also doesn't take a genius or a conspiracy to realise that money makes the world go around. When you realise how much companies invest in American elections it is easy to see that much of your political decision (including those with military consequences) are driven by private vested interests.

If you honestly believe that the wars America engages in all over the world is for altruistic reasons and because they want to protect you and other Americans you are displaying a level of naivete that astounds me. America is an impenetrable fortress. You may get lone wolf lunatics shooting a few people here and bombing a couple of people there but your country will never attacked in full scale warfare. In fact the only vulnerability the American homeland has lies in the fact that America has deployed so many of it's forces abroad to harass and disrupt other nations. That is also the principle cause for the ill will many in the world have for the US.

George, your politicians are corrupt (nothing new, mine are too). You guys have a two party system that has dished up Trump and Hillary as your presidential candidates. So brainwashed is the electorate that they believe the lie that if they don't vote for either of these two evils they are throwing away their vote. And so every four years you will go through the charade of choosing one of two corrupt candidates and you will call what you have democracy. And you will venture out into the world destroying nations in order to instill this worthless democracy in their countries. A democracy you will not respect when a leader is chosen who is not to your liking.

I'm sorry George, but far from being the policeman of the world your country is in fact the biggest criminal. I recently read a report stating that America controls more that 50% of the worlds arms trade. ISIS is using American weapons to reek havoc in the middle east. Far from promoting peace your country is integral to most of the instability in the world at the moment.

I know it is not the individual citizens of the US that have done this. But I get angry when any of it's people try to justify the terror their country brings on the world.
In general I think you are wrong with your negative and cynical attitude and that we are controlled by military companies and not the people. America, although capable of making mistakes, basically has its heart in the right place. That is the fundamental difference we have and probably can't be resolved.

So, we are motivated by 'greed' and the interests of some military financial conspiracy? That's just anti-Americanism that goes with the socialist mentality in my eyes. I don't see how any of these military involvements helped us financially, in fact, I am sure it is the opposite with incredible tax dollars being spent. Also, each involvement or non-involvement involved an internal national discussion, (and sometimes with various parties disagreeing), but the key motivation was always humanitarian.

So, our two parties as bitterly divided as they are, would not love to expose some conspiracy the other party was involved in with some military complex? Your conspiracy theory falls flat in my eyes.

You don't get it do you? I'm not accusing the average Joe American of greed. I am accusing the elites of your country (and my country) of greed. Do you realise that big companies donate to both parties? Do you realise that Donald Trump was great pals with Clinton (he may have even been donated to her in 2008). These guys at the top have both parties covered. That is why each and every president you have will always lead to another unnecessary, unwinnable (or one they don't care to win properly) war.

And you say well that these adventures cost the taxpayers of the US trillions and does not benefit them much. And this is precisely because it is not ordinary Americans who are in control of the big decisions. You have been captured by a corrupt cartel of businessmen who are sucking your country dry and have left it with massive debt that ordinary Americans will spend years paying. They have made America indebted to countries like Saudi Arabia (remember Obama saying he'll oppose a court decision to allow Americans to sure S.A. for sponsoring terrorism?) and China.

If you believe all these things are the work of people who believe they are accountable to ordinary Americans and are acting in their best interests?

A conspiracy between only political elites and of opposite parties? I am not buying that. The USA may look like a monolith to you but internally there are people dying to find dirt on people of the other party.

1. Stop flooding the area with weapons.
2. Stop other nations from flooding the area with weapons such as KSA.
3. Stop using "enemy of my enemy is my friend" for a foreign policy.

What do you mean by 'Radical Islam'?

Islamic extremism is the primary national security and human rights concern of the world today.
It is firstly the primary motivator of acts of terrorism worldwide. Secondly, as Islamic extremists gain power and rule, human rights abuses – including oppression of women, homosexuals and religious minorities as well as governmental tyranny, sectarian warfare and bigotry inherent in sharia law – come to the fore.
Islamic radicals hijacked airplanes to attack and undermine the West. They killed thousands of innocents without a single moral qualm. But their enmity is not just directed against us. They also mean to hijack Islam itself and to destroy 13 centuries of Islamic civilization. We are not in a war between two civilizations. We are fighting an enemy of two civilizations.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^that and much more but I believe most understand the above remarks.

I could copy and paste pages of definitions of "radical Islam" but you already know the answers to your own question.
Any other questions with obvious answers?
Many non muslims believe all of Islam is "radical".
I do not subscribe to that notion however.

Ah, so 'radical' equates to 'extreme'/'terrorist' in your eyes? Do you have the same view of the various forms of Radical Christianity?

As a matter of fact it DOES.
Tell me, what does radical Islam/Christianity mean to YOU?
Here are some of many examples of white, Christian extremists:

http://www.alternet.org/tea-party-a...ks-extreme-christians-and-far-right-white-men
However even this^^^^^^^^ pales in comparison to the shear numbers of radical Islam
atrocities in recent years.

This in just ONE WEEK:
Jihad Report
Jul 16, 2016 -
Jul 22, 2016

Attacks 31
Killed 162
Injured 185
Suicide Blasts 3
Countries 15
Now do you STILL want to compare terrorism with terrorism no matter the actors???
No matter the religion, politics, or shear insanity.
Perhaps Islam is going through some "growing pains" as once did Christianity.
Perhaps the world would be a better place if ALL religion were banned!
"Muhammad was the only true prophet."
"Jesus was the only true prophet."
" My god can beat up your god."
"My god is the only one and true god."
"We are right and you are wrong."
"We are right."
"We Are Right."
"W.A.R."
Let's blow up lots of people in the name of Allah, Jehovah, Jesus, Muhammad, the Pope,.............................................................................................

Sickening isn't it?

From the time of Muhammad and for nearly thirteen hundred years after, Islam waged religious wars against whole populations, forcing conversion to Islam (excluding Jews and Christians, known as “the people of the book”) as a means by which to spread its faith.

The European wars of religion between rivaling Christian sects encompassed roughly 125 years of conflict in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

I never said democracy is an issue. I said Western democracy.
Western democracy isn't really a monolithic thing, so that can't be a problem.

In Finland we have direct elections for president. No upper house, no congress, no senate, just an unicameral parliament with multiple parties. If you mean war or exporting of ideology. Unlike big countries like the US or GB we haven't participated in a war since WW2. Except things like sending small amounts of troops for UN peacekeeping missions.

What country has democracy that you like?
