Well the railways automatically come back to the country as Major's 'privatisation' was the franchise system.
I think you could sort the others out almost by starting afresh, most of the companies out there are just 'shippers' they don't make the product they just ship it out and bill for the privilege.

Maybe, I'd like to see the maths first though.

Do you really want to buy all the things that rotten woman thatcher sold that are badly needing investment and at a greater price than we sold them.

Put it this way: I'd rather £100bn+ was spent on upgrading transport and utilities infrastructure than on upgrading a nuclear deterrent that we simply do not need.

It is likely to have more truth about it than the £350m/week for the NHS.

Voters were subjected to a similar bait-and-switch tactic here in Texas.
The lottery was pushed on the premise that 100% of the proceeds would fund schools. Actually, about 27% of the profits goes to schools, which amounted to around 1 billion dollars in 2011. Still sounds nice.....but that does not mean schools get a billion dollar boost. Other funds are taken away and schools are still under funded.

I'm happy with that but we are a union not a country.

I agree so I'll clarify what I meant. If you want Trident or its replacement so badly then only you and other supporters of nuclear weapons should pay for it; and it should be housed in England since that seems to be where most of supporters of Trident and a future replacement live.

There we go, finally. Thank you. Here's the thing though. When Corbyn made that video the Venezuelan army could not legally shoot protesters. That changed 2 years after that video was uploaded to Youtube.

You're taking a video and attempting to use it to portray Corbyn as supporting a tyranny that murders civilians even though he voiced his support long before they did that.

Now with that out of the way how about you address the fact the Tories who - in addition to supporting Unionist terrorism - currently support the Saudis who not only mass-murder civilians in Yemen but actively arm and fund Islamist terrorist groups like Islamic State.

The tyranny and murders wasn't the point, it was what he admired about Venezuela and the state they are in now.

I disagree about the unionists but I've got no argument about the Saudis and I think that would be better suited to a thread of its own.

Sources?.

Here's something from the Herald. Now I realise the survey is a few years out of date and the sample size is rather small but I've not been able to find anything more recent.

From the link

"The divide in opinion on nuclear weapons on either side of the border is evidenced in a YouGov poll for the Times, where 56% of UK respondents want to replace Trident compared with 42% in Scotland.

Just 25% of UK respondents want it scrapped compared with 48% in Scotland, the poll of 1,656 adults on January 25 and 26 found.

When Scotland's 144 respondents are removed, support for Trident south of the border rises to around three-fifths while support for scrapping it falls further."
