When will humans grow wings?

The mammals from the past that weren't dominant probably didn't have the intelligence to be able to do so.

Humans could now destroy any animal threat that came its way unless a super-intelligent human was able to develop over time. This doesn't seem to be the case though.

I'm sorry for this, but your comments and apparent understanding of the subject at hand has me seriouly wondering if you've even finished elementary school.
Do you have any idea of how ignorant what you're saying is?

How do you explain instinct?

Every animal , even insects seem to have some kind of instinct - otherwise they die.

What put the instinct into living species in the first place? - if it was never there in the first place then we would never have got further than mice.

Something put it there

so why not have a clever human who is also strong and can run fast?
Shows that there's no design, doesn't it.

no, it shows that humans are the end of the DNA/evolution production line.

There's no reason for you to think that. Time isn't ending. We will eventually evolve into something else. Provided there's no catastrophe.

It was clear to me even when I was 14 years old and studying evolution that there was some vital factor missing from the explanations given in Biology class.

The teacher said God might have had some say in it - I didn't believe that either.

Fossil records indicate that sexual reproduction has been occurring for at least one billion years. However, the reason for the initial evolution of sex, and the reason it has survived to the present are still matters of debate, there are many plausible theories. It appears that the ability to reproduce sexually has evolved independently in various species on many occasions. There are cases where it has also been lost, notably among the Fungi Imperfecti. The blacktip shark (Carcharhinus limbatus), flatworm (Dugesia tigrina) and some other species can reproduce either sexually or asexually depending on various conditions.

This must have been a terrible burden to bear for the two years since.

I am not disputing the fact that asexual reproduction is possible.

It does not happen with humans though for other reasons as mentioned above.

However we do have a form of asexual reproduction now , namely: in-vitro fertilsation. In theory all babies could be created this way. This would surely destroy society though as it's contrary to the natural order guided by The Force.

Messing with the Force only causes problems in the long run.

With all the talk of how amazing evolution is I have yet to see a flying person.

Ok, so we have supposedly evolved by chance from the primordial soup - why have we stopped now though - how about a pair of wings or even a third arm?

Quite clearly evolution has stopped with the human being - the highest creature intended to exist on Earth.

I will believe in evolution over design/guidance when I see the first winged man.

Ever seen a person that can run as fast as a lion?
Ever seen a woman as strong as an ape?

Because of the lack of these abilities it is quite apparent that evolution is only a very small part of the whole event.
I don't trust evolution either. I was told evolution only went one way... and then I read your post.

So instead you stopped learning and started just making stuff up instead.

Why do we get ugly or stupid people?

surely these would have been evolved out a long time ago if Darwin was correct.

Why do we get diseases, cancer etc.. - these should also have been evolved out.

Human kind needs people to do the tedious jobs (ie: the stupid) and ugly people to keep up the social order - how does evolution know this?

because the Force guides it!

I just can't un-stupid all of that. This poster can't be serious, ever.

You certainly don't understand evolution, nnmartin.

Growing wings for human is impractical and would be totally inconvenient. We would more likely be chickens or ostriches, meaning flightless.

And what make you that human evolution has reached its final stage?

Why would you expect to see one?

Evolutionarily, physiologically, and metabolically, flight is very expensive. It's got tremendous cost associated with it, so it's only advantageous in very specific circumstances. In fact, the general trend has been that when the necessity for flight disappears, so does the ability... hence all the flightless birds in (until recently) predator-free New Zealand, for example.

The thing with flight is that it doesn't just need wings. It also needs a body that's light enough for those wings to fly it and a constant supply of energy. Those needs often outweigh the "cool factor" of being able to fly.

Evolution has provided us with wings, albeit indirectly.
Those big chess club sized brains enabled the manufacture of devices with wings.
Now, we can fly higher & faster than birds, & do even dumber things in the air.

I want to fly like a bird. It would be so useful in a zombie apocalypse and fun, too. I could take shots at zombies from the air and even dive bomb them. Crap, I could bring a barrel of napalm with me for some really nice times.

My anatomy prof once taught us that early (millions of years ago) humans used to have tiny wings, ( He compared it to the wings of the chicks. It's not for flying though). The remains of that wings is the Scapula .
