When will Jesus return?

Gimme me dat olde tyme religion

As in:

Let atheists scoff, and Jews blaspheme
Th' eternal life and Jesus' name;
A word of thy almighty breath
Dooms the rebellious world to death.

The unbelieving world shall wail,
While we rejoice to see the day:

On impious wretches he shall rain
Tempests of brimstone, fire, and death;
Such as he kindled on the plain
Of Sodom, with his angry breath.

And a warm and loving Christian welcome to you all!:D

Omar: I understand your position and it must be blamed on religion (which in some cases is very confusing) I am not a christian but i do believe in God and I am saying that Jesus will never return until all things be fulfilled by the Almighty God. He just cannot return on his own accord, he never did nor ever will and that is why this may seem like ol' time religion -it's what religion has been preaching for centuries.

Hi HouseofIsrael,

Knowledge -is what you know, to believe -is belief and can change. I know and i'm comfortable with that because i have knowledge beyond belief in God's word.

What knowledge are you referring to and how did you acquire it?

Matthew 16:28: "...there shall be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."

Matthew 24:34, "...this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."

I don't see how christians can get past the obvious no-show of jesus.....

If i answer your question honestly, would you believe me? and would it make a difference? when scientist tell us about science we believe it right in most cases, and that belief becomes knowledge because it's what we accept and live by though we may never understand nor see for ourselves. The truth is, knowledge can become what it is to you, based upon belief you accept with or without a revelation. religious eg. for brother doubting Thomas it had to be revealed to him.

Sorry, Yeshua isn't coming back. His mission is complete, now we wait for a different messianic figure, the Davidic one. Yeshua was just one of many such figures, the next one will be the last, final one. Not at all the false and bloody version of the coming messiah depicted the so called 'Revelations' but an era of peace, real peace.

Since when do the dead rise? Since when does the fictional become reality? ...

When? When it pleases G-d, as we know from RAMBAM's 13 principles. (the 13th one if I remember right)

Yes the greatest of all (you call him dividic? not sure about that) the one i was told to look for is Elijah who will restore all things. I believe Jesus will return but not in the way many religions do, not with that kind of power he did whilst he was here and not on his own accord i believe when the Almighty God who even Jesus prayed to fulfill all things then he will return with him to enjoy the fruits of his labour. So if religion is looking for his return otherwise then yes someone is very mistaken and might have to wait forever to receive that expectation.

Yes.

I won't know until I hear your answer.

Are you now saying that your knowledge of God is based on your belief in Him?

You seemed to be saying the opposite one page 1 of this thread (hence my question).

Elijah was to be sent to restore priesthood keys to the earth, priesthood keys that are an essential part of the restitution of all things that is to take place before the 2nd coming.

Of course, but are we to think that someone would send Elijah... of course not he was talking with himself and it listed what he has to do ("turn the heart of the fathers to the children etc") basically it's meant to say he would undo or restore all things back to the beginning of creation, and finally smite the earth with a curse if he doesn't succeeds which is very very unlikely or some may say impossible. A point to note here, though, if we were to look to Jesus to come and restore why would Elijah say he would smite the earth with a curse if he doesn't succeeds????????

So you think Elijah is to come of himself? As in, no one sent him? I think God sent Elijah, and all the other prophets (including Jesus Christ) and will send him again when it's the right time. I believe that God the Father sends prophets to the earth to give us the great news of the Gospel. He wants us to know how to be happy and receive "peace in this life, and eternal life in the world to come." I think that all prophets are acting under his direction.
