Where was God during the Las Vegas shooting?

Does it matter? Our culture upbringing and genetic predispositions and childhood experiences alone are enough to cast serious doubts on the idea of free will. Add in that neuro-psychology is further chipping away at the idea of free will, and at best we are left with hopes of compatibalism, but even that must be demonstrated to exist and have some meaningful application to suggest that we ever really do have a choice.
Also, I wouldn't be such a strong Agnostic if metaphysics were entirely lost on me.

I'm giving up on the purple font - which YOU CHOSE while claiming there is no free will!!! I'm giving up on that one too lol, you're clearly unreasonable... or something!

This purple font you are using, is ridiculous, just like your assumption.
Do you really want to go down the path of personal insults?
Pascals Wager is the wager set by God, which Pascal learnt to figure out lol. It's hardly rocket science. It's just a logic trap for the atheist.
He didn't even intend it for atheists.
See, I as a believer can live a good and healthy life, full of moral virtue
Funny: I have all those without god. What I don't have is an ancient book chaining me down.
I win, you lose because you chose not to believe.
If the god of Abraham exists, I don't want to spend eternity with him anyways. And we both "lose" if we end up standing before Zeus, or Osiris, or are denied entrance into the Halls of Valhalla.
yet I lived a better, more wholesome life with more moral grounding and with a sense of accountability you could never compare to,
Now who is saying ridiculous things? You think without god I can't have a wholesome life that is moral and with a high sense of accountability? Your theist arrogance and elitism is really showing.

Actually, I didn't really choose it. The color I used before (which really wasn't a choice so much as it was giving myself permission) didn't carry over when the forum changed software or whatever a few years back, and I settled on this one, which was the closest I had to the color I was using then.
As for why I didn't decide to use a different color altogether, those with Asperger's tend to not do change well and stick to routine.

It applies to anyone of no or little belief,

Funny: I have all those without god. What I don't have is an ancient book chaining me down.

You don't have belief in God! That's the caveat, lol

If the god of Abraham exists, I don't want to spend eternity with him anyways. And we both "lose" if we end up standing before Zeus, or Osiris, or are denied entrance into the Halls of Valhalla.

Truth prevails, while myths die out. Valhalla and the triune deities of Mithra origin hold no significance in the modern age, which is why we are discussing popular belief systems and not defunct ones. Get up to speed, man! Keep up!

Now who is saying ridiculous things? You think without god I can't have a wholesome life that is moral and with a high sense of accountability? Your theist arrogance and elitism is really showing.

I'm saying God wired you to be those good things, which you deny because you are self absorbed in the "I".

True. But, if it doesn't...we still believe it does, lest we wouldn't have prisons then. It's a conundrum, indeed.
Even if we accept it doesn't exist there would still be reason to keep those who are violent and dangerous confined and away from the general population. The book I linked to does a fine job at explaining all this.

Dude, you chose it! Free will. Stop lying to yourself!

It's not how Pascal intended it. He intended his "wager" for a Christian audience.
You don't have belief in God! That's the caveat, lol
So? I don't need to believe in god. If I obtained those things independent of god, what does that say for those who claim you must have god to obtain them?

Popularity and time do not prove anything. The ancient Egyptians and Greeks knew the world was round, but that fact would become blasphemy to Medieval Christian Europe.
I'm saying God wired you to be those good things, which you deny because you are self absorbed in the "I".
I deny it because I am aware that so much of "me" can be traced to the fact I have Asperger's Syndrome, or that I was bullied in school, that my family life growing up wasn't the greatest, and that I grew up in such a rural and Conservative place. Self-awareness does not bode well for free-will, as the more we understand about ourselves, the more we understand our actions were not necessarily conscious choices but reactions that stem from previous interactions.

Which leads to the next question; having never talked to them, how do you know why they killed themselves when they did not convey this information to you?

Because it's easier than the humiliation of a life sentence.

Now you're claiming my honest answer is a lie? That I am lying to myself because I question something that just doesn't seem to hold up to scrutiny?

Where was God during the Las Vegas shooting...

:D you guys are funny.

Do you think justice was served because the shooter offed himself? He killed how many people? 50 something right? Do you really think that justice was served? He took his own life - to escape the justice on this planet - and even then that justice would hardly be justice because how does one death account for the deaths of 50 something people? He'd have to die 50 something times for that!

True justice just can't be meted out in this life, because there is no true accountability on earth - this is why the believer has the belief of accountability in the next life and so, we are extra careful not to commit crimes which see us lose in the next life.

Do you have a wife? daughter? sister? Imagine she was gang raped and her rapists were caught and jailed, and then set free 3 years later - would you call that justice? No. What happens to the rapists in the next life is Justice, they will be in hell where they will be punished in ways which befit their criminality.

See, the atheist can't claim the cake is theirs when the secular law they believe in is as faulty as sin itself!

Peace

Now I must address a sensitive person:

Now you're claiming my honest answer is a lie? That I am lying to myself because I question something that just doesn't seem to hold up to scrutiny?

You chose a colour, clearly! I didn't do that - you did. Just be a man about it!

I didn't choose the color though. I select it, obviously, but having an attraction to the color is not something I chose. Certainly no more than I was able to choose to be a woman.
Also, I can own up to things without having to put gender into them. I'm not a man, so why would I "be a man" about it?

See, I as a believer can live a good and healthy life, full of moral virtue in the hope that God will be merciful to me - and if I'm right in that He exists and He rewards me for my belief, deeds and conduct - I win, you lose because you chose not to believe. But if, on the other hand - you were right and there was no God, no life after death, no judgement etc - then we you still lose, because we are both wormfood, yet I lived a better, more wholesome life with more moral grounding and with a sense of accountability you could never compare to, because you do not believe in "judgement in life after death".

Do yourself a favour, learn to understand what the pascals wager is. Don't do a dizzy, don't do convenient analogies to push a bias - learn the irony of the wager!
Holy narrow-minded claptrap, Batman! Binary logic is so cute. :)

Eternal punishment is never proportionate to the crime. That's not justice, it's blood lust.
