Huh. Here is proof that all those threads whining about atheist domination of RF are correct. Christians are behind atheists by one vote.

But if the Christians follow the atheists by only one vote, then the number of theists far outweigh the number of atheists. They just have the advantage of having a single title.

Close to 250 vs 88. I'd say theists win the day.

If you look at it that way, yeah.

Even though I'm skeptical about a lot of things, I don't strongly identify myself as atheist or at least not in the "there is no god" sense. I'm still unsure if I did have a belief where it would lean most likely. There's a strong part of me however that identifies with the pagan aspects of nature. But pagan is such a broad spectrum of beliefs that it's still hard for me to ariticulate what it is when I'm around nature in its natural form. A feeling I can't describe or put well into words.

Hey, we could become a majority. If we do, then we could take over.
Then we could impose our agenda, which is......is......is...... What is our agenda?
wasn't it something about "rational thinking"? Either that or something about coffee... or is that the UU's?

Hi Friends

I believe in prophetic revelations of God, and my delight is the study of the Old & New Testaments, The Qur'an, and the Bahá'í teachings, of which I'm a member. sky

Well, you know, I don't think Jesus ever once endorsed the hatred that is shown in the Old Testament. This, to me, is proof that God did not endorse such hatred since Jesus is the Son of God.

If that's how you see it it... that's fine.

Mods, maybe if you'd be so kind, we could sticky this thread for a while. You know...so it's not meaningless.
Other - Please Explain

I am a free spirit, I am not bound by any one faith or religion. I find using labels to describe someones beliefs to be tacky so I choose not to wear one. :)

So, if more people are the followers of a belief, does it necessarily mean, that belief is closer to the Truth?

For example, almost all people some centuries ago, believed that the earth is flat.
But history has shown, newer beliefs were usually better and got closer to the Truth.

Agnosticism. I believe that there is something bigger, something that has created the universe, but I can't identify myself with everything I've been reading so far. I've done research about christianity, Islam, buddhism and wicca, but I haven't found anything that I truly believe in yet.

I believe in freedom, in being who you really want to be. I do not believe in rules that you have to follow to earn a place in heaven. I don't believe it goes that way. I hope that one day, everything falls into place, because I really want to believe in something. It gives hope and calmness.

I suggest you also investigate the Baha'i Faith:

Pantheist. Buddhist. Daoist. I take elements from each one, but I selected Buddhism because I've been drawing most heavily from it lately.

I admit, I'm a bloody sucker for patterns. Observing and contemplating the patterns we find in the physical world led me to extrapolate about the universe. So I became a pantheist.

I took a look at Buddhism, found the morals and values aligned with mine. I saw Nirvana, a blissful jewel at the apex of my path. I've began to study Buddhism more now, and it's philosophy and beliefs have began to guide me on my path.

I took a look at Daoism, and I discovered the natural flow of the universe. Like all the biological, I allow my path to self-organize. Time, structure, and interaction will guide me to harmony and understanding of the Tao (or natural way of the universe, as others would put it)

Regards,
Morse
