Which religion is the one true religion?

Hmmm...some people answered the first part of my post but not the second. Why do you believe what you do? Or rather what led you to believe what you do?

None are right. I disbelieve because none offer any real evidence.

By what other criteria should we judge the validity of an idea if not by the evidence which supports it? (not a rhetorical question, I'm open to suggestions)

What does the brand/sect have to do with it? Religion is a generic term to represent the goal of realizing the underlying Truth of existence, but the brands/sects associated in this practice are many in number and diverse in their present understanding.

I mean, it's analogous to asking asking those who are interested in one or more of the disciplines of science, which is the one true science.

Though it is true, just as in religious sectarianism, there are many who specialize in or who have an interest in just one field of science, who tend to be somewhat dismissive of other fields of science. However science itself is a generic term and is inclusive of all disciplines and fields.

Islam, of course. Ask any Muslim. :flirt: Why? Because they say so. (It doesn't get much better than that.)

we have a proof for our relegion which is the Qura'an
[2] This is the book; in it is guidance, sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah;

as a result, who fear Allah should do:-->
[3] Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them;(in charity)

also believe in
[4] And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee(Muhammed PBUH), and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter.

[5] They are on (true guidance), from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper.

The primary factor which lead you to truth is that to fear Allah and to make a shield for your self to protect your self from punishment.

The one that works for you.

EXACTLY. And I find it hilarious that people think God will punish you if the religion that is right for you, turns out not to be true.

God is not going to favour some over others depending on their religion, because whether or not they were right is nothing but sheer luck. I don't see how the Pope can be favoured over Richard Dawkins, even if Christianity happens to be true (regarding beliefs) .

There is no such thing as the true religion, until one has been proved. Each individual can have their own truth, but that is just their truth - its not actual truth.

Id like to hear the religious answer this one too. Its usually hard for them to answer because their reasons for belief is usually involuntary. And if its involuntary then they cant exactly expect to be rewarded or favoured for their beliefs. I've already seen someone in this thread say that they believe what they believe because it feels right, well whether or not it feels right is not down to you.

I personally didn't answer it because I can't explain why I believe. And I don't really know what led me to my faith.

Zarking Fardwarks!
If there was only one true religion, the majority of humans would have to suffer the wrath of the one true God. I don't believe that a loving and just God would create a system where he had to unleash his wrath on the majority of his creations.

Greetings!

Can you tell me which religion is the one true religion and why you believe what you do?

My belief is as stated in the Baha'i scriptures:

"There can be no doubt whatever that the peoples of the world, of whatever race or religion, derive their inspiration from one heavenly Source, and are the subjects of one God. The difference between the ordinances under which they abide should be attributed to the varying requirements and exigencies of the age in which they were revealed. All of them, except a few which are the outcome of human perversity, were ordained of God, and are a reflection of His Will and Purpose. Arise and, armed with the power of faith, shatter to pieces the gods of your vain imaginings, the sowers of dissension amongst you. Cleave unto that which draweth you together and uniteth you."

(The Proclamation of Baha'u'llah, p. 114;
also Gleanings, CXI, pp. 217-8)

As to why, this is the direct result of extensive (and extended) reading, prayer, research, investigation, observation, and evaluation on my part, after which I came to an informed conclusion. That was over 37 years ago, and since that time I have NOT ONCE had any reason to regret this decision!

Best! :)
