Who Believe the Earth is 6000 Years Old???

Then please tell me what theory you have which is supported by more evidence than evolution. By your critique I assume you do have a more convincing theory to offer... :)
All matter is eternal (it cannot be destroyed and has always existed) but can be organized and used to create things such as we see evident on this earth.

Our bodies were created by an intelligent designer to house our spirits, which gives our bodies life, without our spirits we would be lifeless dead decaying bodies...

God organized matter and created the earth in stages and everything in and on it, both living and dead...

A more intelligent/powerful being than ourselves has created everything in our universe by organizing eternal matter.

This earth was created no more than a few thousand years ago according to opinions/theories of creation scientists and I will also use the term theory to be fair, there being many unknown factors/missing links when it comes to knowing the exact age of the earth...but we can certainly be more accurate than just suggesting millions or billions...

That's a hypothesis. It has not been tested, is supported by no evidence and makes very little sense in light of the evidence that we do have.

The theory of natural selection on the other hand explains all the evidence we have in an elegant and beautiful way. I don't think there is any comparison really.

And as far as the age of the earth goes... 13,000 years? I'm sorry but that is simply ridiculous.

The Earth is @ least 2 billion years old, @ the very least. Young Earth Creationism is dense and brane-less: willful ignorance, I believe.

I am with you on this issue - I just want to point out that I find it funny when someone misses the spelling on the word "brain" when calling something else "brainless" :biglaugh:

That's all.

Oh dear.

I think it's time I left this debate, it's getting rather boring.
Yes, the truth is boring to someone who wants or thinks there is more to our existence than just a more intelligent being than ourselves who created us...

Not rocket science, just a loving God who is the Father of our spirits...

Go knock yourself out trying to figure some other explanation....

Waste of time...

I deliberately spelt it that way because Scientists use the word "Brane" in this way: sorry to spoil your fun, but look it up for verification.

How is it that so many people can get away with saying this, maybe because there are so many backing up what you say, but does that make it any more true ??? or give you the right to insult another's beliefs ???

Don't get me wrong, it's not offensive to me, because I am well grounded in my beliefs and knowledge of what is true and what is not....

Just think it's odd that this kind of insult goes unnoticed and dismissed or accepted as civil, yet if I were to say the same thing it would not go unnoticed and I would be pummeled for saying such rude remarks...

What you believe may make you feel better for now, but I know it doesn't sit well with you when I say 13,000 years maybe because the truth stirs people up when it is allowed to be at least heard, at least the notion that the earth is thousands of years old, not millions or billions..

So I can totally understand the insults and will forgive and will hold no ill feelings and will pray that I can help better explain my position in a way that will be more undeniably accurate...

I meant no insult to you or anyone else: if you can prove the Earth is only a few thousand years old, fine. Take it to a reputable scientific institute and have it "peer-reviewed" or whatever. I spoke from my own intuitive sense of the issue, not on the authority of science or anything else.

Wonderful: however, you should know that I am not the one you need to convince, FFH, as I am a compatibalist: I believe we were Created to Evolve, so to speak. I do not oppose one school of thought to another: Creation and Evolution in harmony are fine with me. A question, though...

If the Earth is only 6 or 10 thousand years old, why do so many psychics and mystics have latent memories of bygone eras predating a Young Earth?

An appropriate response to creationism if ever there was one.

Someone on the school board in Kansas should bring this up at their next hoo-ha.:D

On your calender of 13,000 years. When would you date this Great Flood?
The exact year is known because of accurate Biblical records.

The appraximate year is 2,350 BC or about 1,650 years after Adam was forced out of the Garden of Eden and I would have to look it up again to make sure on that and get the exact year again.

You can find the exact date on this site: www.chabad.org

Psychics and Mystics are only channeling the thoughts of Satan and his angels who do his bidding for him....Mystics and psychics are only Satan's pawns on this earth and are feeding people full of lies on a nonexistent time, with nonexistent places, people and events.

It's nothing but made up people, places and events created by the father of lies the devil/Satan...

To believe anything more than this would be to believe in the father of lies himself...

Why is it that true prophets never mention this, but we are so willing to accept false prophets, having "itching ears" ourselves...

Meaning we want to know more than what's been plainly explained to us in scritpture, so the devil is willing to tell lies just because people won't accept the truth as plainly layed out and taught in scripture.

Okay, sorry I got the date wrong it's 2105 BC or 1895 years after Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden.

So assuming we are in the 13,000th year of this earth's existence, creation taking up the first 6,000 years with 1,000 years of rest, then you have Adam and Eve being cast out of the Garden possibly at the end of this 7,000 year period, then there is another 1,895 years until the flood, then of course another 2105 years until Christ is born and then we need to add of course another 2,000 years approximately until now.....

You can search any Biblical event and the day, month and year will come up in many cases as you can see with the Great Flood it has an exact day recoreded in the Bible.

Then of course you have to convert the Jewish date to our Gregorian calendar, which they also provide...

Search on this page at the top: http://www.chabad.org/search/results.asp?searchword=flood+date
