Who on this Forum have you Developed an Improbable Admiration, Respect and/or Friendship for?

So who on this Forum, if anyone, have you been surprised to develop an improbable admiration, friendship, and/or respect for?

I've become rather fond of several posters who don't share some of my core beliefs in some areas -- and sometimes don't share many beliefs at all with me -- but who I rather admire or like for other reasons.

For instance, @YmirGF nowadays strikes me as having opinions worth paying attention to even when I disagree with him -- which seems to be getting less and less over time -- but we got off to a pretty rocky start many years ago. And I've come to like and admire many of @BSM1's values even thought his opinions so often differ from mine. I've learned a lot from @crossfire though I used to think her...um...."eccentric". And I have learned so much, and have been so inspired by the insufferable @Jayhawker Soule that I owe him more than I can easily describe. Not the least, I've found @Rival to have fascinating depths and insights despite the horror I often enough feel at her conservative politics. That's just to name a few.
There are just too many to list... I like everyone here! :D

I'll be honest. It's really difficult for me to grow connections with people through text-based means. I also haven't been here too long. I'll give you all a shot though.
I have the opposite problem... It's really difficult for me to grow connections with people in person, partly because I do not get out of the house except to go to work. So all my connections are on forums. :D

I have humor? Why does everyone keep saying that? When have I ever tried to tell a joke? Why do you guys keep saying I'm funny? I don't get it.

Seriously, thank you so much! That's very kind of you. The appreciation is quite mutual.

Wirey

Fartist
I think you had a spelling error in there
"@Wirey" is not spelled "Revoltingest".

Is too!

I have developed a great admiration over the years for @Revoltingest simply because he stands by what he believes, and politely when possible. I admire @Deidre and @4consideration for putting up with my fake perversion with good humour and no rancor. It speaks to the quality of their character that they are able to let me act like a retarded chimp with such grace and gentle good natures. Plus, they have bodacious ta-tas. Most of the folks here are okay, whether we agree or disagree. @BSM1 and @YmirGF for instance are politically pretty different than me, but they've been civil about it and both act like they're high on mushrooms and watching Star Trek reruns when appropriate. That happens to be a quality I like in other people.

Now, can we have a thread where I get to call out all the truly butthole-ish dorks I'd dearly like to urinate on just before they find out the truth about me and their mom?

What? Me worry?
Darn it @Sunstone, I have been thinking about this since you posted it. Every time I sit down to answer I realize that there are so many I would list and I am afraid I'll miss someone. Almost every one on here has either challenged, validated, illuminated, gave me reason to laughed, or almost caused me to violate my parole, but I'll try to list a few that really stand out. Of course you, with your blatant solicitations of our admiration, are always a breath of mountain air. @Wirey and @Revoltingest are definitely a couple of wild and crazy guys and it's hilarious when they swap accents after a Molson's or four. @Quetzal and his rocket reports, and @Ymir GF with his inputs. @David T who has recently took up the task of keeping me humble (and he's doing a good job). Always happy to hear @PopeADope is still in one piece. There are so many more but surprisingly I have grown to like @Jayhawker Soule. When I first came on I felt he was a pompous a**. Now I just feel he's a little pompous but, like someone else said, I feel honored when he takes the time to bust my chops. BTW I have learned a lot from @metis and @Tumah. Again, there are so many more I could list that I will lie awake again tonight thinking about who I missed--thanks loads, @Sunstone.

Yeah @metis rocks pretty hard. :)

Is that saying I got rocks in my head? No wonder I keep breaking combs.

Thanks, my friend, and I think you and @BSM1 have come a long way with me to bury the hatchet. But I wasn't affected by that because rocks covers hatchets, but paper covers-- wait, I'm sorta confused here.

One of the things that I like most about you and a few others on "the other side" is that you do not get needlessly bogged down in partisan rhetoric. Most of your points are quite understandable. If only more had "rocks" in their heads. :)

@Revoltingest is wise and funny with patience to beat the band and @sun rise is wise, funny and the friendliest person I have ever met online or in real life. :) @Sunstone has many good questions and I consider him a real person. @Kelly of the Phoenix is wonderful, smart and she gives me likes. I like @'mud. @Jedster seems to have a lot of common sense. @lewisnotmiller is very smart. Can I say @wizanda is crazy, but I love him? @crossfire makes my brain feel different. Different is good! @Riders is a good read. @Brickjectivity is my brother. I have to love him. Not that I don't. Oh @metis. The resident historian. I like him. @Fool is not a fool. I love @Quintessence for her greenness. I am green too.(I forget if she is he - I know she won't mind). @oldbadger! God bless you! I almost forgot. @Wirey so cold, he is warm. @Shadow Wolf for her brazen insight. :)
@Willamena because she is just plain wonderful! @Polymath257 because there is math in his name. @Deeje because she was willing to put up with me so very long and @Jayhawker Soule for not.

I do remember once saying that if there was just one more popularity context (I lose every time) (which is actually good per Jesus) I'm leaving. That was a long time ago and I have changed my mind. I changed my mind.

No, really. @Jayhawker Soule might be the second most realest* person here. I appreciate him and I always want to read what scathing review he has for stupid. If that is what people call a learning adventure I agree. I totally agree!

*it might be called poetic justice. (I know it is wrong). Wrong is OK. It HAS to be.

Just posting to alert @'mud for you.
That apostrophe is necessary.

Of course, I forgot somebody! And, it is just one reason why I call @Revoltingest a wise man. He won't name us. ;) @beenherebeforeagain is funny, smart and on the ball. < which on the ball might give you a clue that I really am 62.
I thank you for noticing my intent.
I could list dozens & dozens, & still forget dozens.
I dis enuf people already.
Don't want to add any to that list.
Gawd....I can think of so many not yet mentioned.

If you don't mind, what is a God-fearing Atheist? I am a believer who has a fascination with atheists. :D

I am kind of new here so I do not know everyone here yet... I have never SEEN so many posters on one forum.
