I first realized McCain wasn't all there when he made such a big deal about how safe it was in Baghdad, and then "proved" it by touring the market in a bulletproof vest with an escort of 100 soldiers and three Blackhawk helicopters.

His utter inability to control his temper is enough in itself to render him unfit for the presidency, and his complete capitulation to the "forces of intolerance" he condemned eight years ago is disgusting, as is the sheer hypocrisy of urging his state to adopt a constitutional amendment against same-sex marriage. One always likes to be lectured about the sanctity of marriage by a man who had an affair with his present wife while he was married to his first wife.

I'm also troubled by his inability to articulate a policy on the Iraq War that differs in any significant respect from Bush's -- and his seeming inability even to recall what's wrong with any of Bush's policies.

The first thing you mentioned makes sense though. Hes a high priority target. Its the treatment the lowliest congressman from who cares Idaho gets whether in the green zone or not.

He does have a temper, but I don't see where it has affected him in acheiving what he set out to do.

A constitutional amendment on same-sex marriage is a new one to me though. Thats pretty much bull that he would try to move on that agenda. I think the issue should be handled on a state level regardless. It doesn't seem to be high on his agenda nor would a bill pass allowing it or stand judicial review.

Well in truth Iraq policy just started to work. Well anyways measurable results are actually in that both sides can see and the democrats are acknowledging at least from what I could see when Petraeus gave his statement to congress and the following Q&A. Things are actually going in the right direction. I just don't like the idea of leaving before we are done just to see another slaughter like Saigon broadcast. It sucks now but its going to suck worse if the DoD allows the Executive Branch to withdraw as quickly as the democrat camps claim they want to.

Honestly, I'm waiting for the debates to make my final judgment, but I can't see any reason thus far why McCain isn't the best choice for our country at this point in time.

Nope. Rudy Gi911ani is out of the race. The only reason anybody liked him in the first place was that he was on the ground on 9/11 while Bush was in hiding.

I'm a little late in replying to this, but that's not why I liked him at all. I just thought it'd be cool to have a mobster in the whitehouse.

Come on, you ALL know he's totally a mobster.

In last couple of election, many people voted for George W. Bush because he said he 'wouldn't' do this and that. Instead of voting for someone who 'won't' do anything, how about voting for someone who will do something. :) What do you think?

That's why I'm writing in Huckabee.

If you ask me, one might as well write in "Hitler/Stalin" this year. Both Obama and McCain are useless clowns.

Ron Paul was a good enough candidate, but the media ignored him.

I'm going to vote for Obama. He wants change and while I'm skeptical he can bring forth the changes I'd like, McCain reminds me of Bush.

Walking away singing,

We live in a political world
Where peace is not welcome at all
It's turned away from the door to wander some more
Or put up against the wall

I like Brian Moore, the Socialist candidate. But let's be honest, he's still a third party candidate and he has little chance of winning.

I will be voting for Obama. He is honest, charming, fashionable, handsome, tolerant, and a supporter of Israel.
