Why are people afraid of their beliefs being questioned ?

I generally do not get into deep discussion with my circle of friends and family simply because they have neither the education and/or training to fully grasp what I am talking about. That is partly why I tend to explore the psychology of things as it seems more people, in the real world, can relate to that. That said, I do tend to jab at religions fairly often, but it is more often than not as a critique - as observations on the funny things that people allow themselves to believe.

Oh, now you've got me curious. You can't say something like that and not give a few examples. :D

I try not to share my beliefs .I am afraid of my orthodox family and i am afraid they will reject me .

Orthodox? As in Eastern Orthodox Christianity? Or as in orthodox the general term for being traditional, as in an orthodox branch of Hinduism.

There's quite the difference.
