Well you're not thinking obviously - guessing what I believe is not very useful.

Of course there are differences between the apes. Humans are more closely related to chimps than chimps are to gorrilas, but there are obvious subtle differences. Humans are a species of ape, and differ from the other apes in a number of superfucial ways - just as a lion is different to a puma, but both are cats.
