From the original question, I had to laugh because as much as you, Debunker seemed bored by my Supreme Court decision topics in the Sarah Palin thread, I don't see how you can claim to love the Constitution. The Supreme Court decisions interpret the Constitution into binding guides going forward. As such they are an extension of the Constitution.
The Constitution is not static and the founding fathers didn't intend it to be. That's why they included the amendment process. The fact that this country doesn't adhere to its constitution is appalling to me. An example would be the prohibition of a standing army. I think we should pass an amendment to allow a standing army because in this day and age of ICBM's and supersonic jet fighters, we don't have time to put together defenses only when we are attacked. Instead we do an end run around the intent and just authorize the army for the maximum allowed period repeatedly and by rote. If this ever came up for the Supreme Court to address, they would have to either strike down the practice or disregard many of their prior examples where they look at the intent of the Constitution and the intent/reality of the actions being taken.
Just because some have a different understanding of the Constitution than you have does not mean we don't respect it.
Oh and I love babies and pie too. Much to my chagrin, I'm often a little too fond of pie in the sky too, but being a dreamer just makes me more of an American I think.

Wow, I think we had the right idea in the 17thC, to ship all the lunatic Religious Fringe out to the new World. Otherwise, the only alternative would have been mass burnings, and the Catholic Inquisitions of the time would have been quite happy to do this, I think.

Unchecked Democracy is the world's greatest enemy. There is nothing more easily manipulated, unthinking and cruel as mob rule. All democracies commit a brutal suicide.
GWB promotes the concept of democracy because it's a stepping stone to total chaos where the people will become forced by circumstances to cry out for a totalitarian fixup. Of course the Gnu Whirred Oar Door plans to be well prepared to make their offering when that time comes.

jbug, while I agree in part with the first part of your statement, I find the 2nd paragraphy laughable. Conspiracies that involve a few people and last a brief period are hard to pull off. Something like the NWO with dozens of egotistical people of power working together over generations is about as likely as a buffalo with wings.. and not the kind people eat as appetizers. (those were named after the city, not the animal) -- I do think that these people get together and make awful clandestine deals, but not as part of some grand scheme. I sat thru a John Birch meeting where a lot of this type of stuff was "illustrated" by William Jasper and I was shooting holes through it in my mind the whole time he was talking.. and that was without having access to the internet to do some fact checking.

I agree what GWB and his ilk are up to is laughable. They are not the only ones delighting in the dissasembly of social order. There are many other interested parties in the shredding up of good ole USA. As long as there is some semblence of power and order left to this country you will see factions who are bitterly oppoesed to one another united in their efforts to bring the USA down. Then, once that common objective is met, that's when things get really interesting. Now these factions that were cooperating for this are facing off to see who can eat most of the carcass and establish their plan before the others do. There are a lot of wanna-be powers that think they will finally get their chance when the USA is out of the way.
Someone ought to start a thread discussing who all is united to bring it down and who is going to win the final round when they all must turn on one another.
Since I am just finishing up old threads only and then moving on, I'll put my vote here.
My vote is for two winners emerging in a new Western Civilization.
The first winner is a restored Israel (not the State of Israel) that will self-organize in the chaos of America's desolation and rise from the ashes and rebuild a new and improved constitutional republic much like the original USA. It shall have friendly relations with the State of Israel who also must get plunged into chaos and ruins and rebuild anew as well. This will be a theocratic republic where the Judeo-Christian moral system will be perfected. All of its citizens shall be sovereign in as much as they abide the law. It will be a minimalist non-centralized patriarchy/matriarchy governmental system with life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The second winner shall be Islam. All those who are not a part of the rebuilding of America and Israel will be overrun and dominated by Islam. Their system of law will be very similar but much more strict and applied with much more force. Islam shall smash opposing efforts of, for example, Papal or Communistic powers to stake their claims on their piece of the West gone to chaos. Russia and China would do well to quietly mind their own business because if they do try to come to the USA and take a piece of things they shall suffer terrible and needless losses.
The USA is being brought down for one reason and one reason only. The Father's Kingdom was offered to them and they rejected it, fought against it, drove it into the wilderness and utterly refuse to allow it to function. So, because they have postured themselves as the Father's enemy, He shall have to treat them accordingly. And, we have good ole Christians to thank the most for it.
