Why do atheists haunt religious forums?

Atheists are atheists for many undertandable reasons not least of which would be how religion has led to bloodshed and violence, hatred and disharmony.

For what it's worth, I don't blame religion for the existence of bloodshed & the rest.
It would be there anyway. I'm a non-believer simply because I see no reason to believe.

Autodidact..points well made. It's true ..I take note of the varying replies to posts and topics I make that are either humble or loaded with attitude. It's interesting.

It's sad seeing believers stoop to being disrespectfull. It must be infuriating to believe in something one cannot 'scientifically' prove. Atheists are atheists for many undertandable reasons not least of which would be how religion has led to bloodshed and violence, hatred and disharmony. Each religion insisting they have it right. Preaching exlusionary teachings of a generally damned population is not biblical.

Debating religion with atheists at least provides a forum to test ones beliefs, even if the battle is never won.

I think most atheists are atheists because they find the evidence does not seem to point to the existence of any god.

Hey there
So why do people that do not believe in God and detest religion seek out religious forums to pass their time?
Speaking for myself (which is all I ever do), I'm here for the Left Hand Path forums and will likely never 'haunt' any other part of the website unless it's devoid of religious discussion altogether.

Are they sick?
Occasionally.
Are they bored?
Never, life is too short and the universe is too vast.
Are they evil?
Indeed.
Do they have mental health issues?
*I* don't :0)
Perhaps just depraved?
Occasionally. Usually twice on Sundays.
Perhaps just lost?
Strike 6.

Why do atheists haunt religious forums?

lol I don't think they haunt religious forums at all. Maybe they just like learning new things. Who cares if they want to learn about religion or not. Plus, as other people did mention, it is a DEBATE/DISCUSSION forum. Why would anyone religious exclude an atheist? Excluding a human being isn't very Godly... ;) All walks of life should be welcome anywhere... Just like how I should be welcomed with open arms to a black/Chinese/etc community (I'm not racist... that's for those of you who may take this comment the wrong way). It goes the same way with religion.

Oh and another thing I just thought of... Maybe some Athiests like learning about the human race and culture. Religion is a part of that. But then... maybe some Athiests want to take advantage of their freedom of speech and want to do nothing but trash those that believe in God? Who's to say... oh... the Athiests could probably tell you very clearly why they haunt religious forums...

You took the words right out of my mouth.

And I can't speak for other atheists, but me? I'm just here for the sexy ladies.

OK, here's why I haunt religious forums:

Sexy ladies
Beer
Orgies
Harassing Sunstone until he give me the money he owes me

I'm sure I'm missing a few more reasons, but those are off the top of my head.

You're definitely missing at least one, which is especially odd since I thought it was your main reason for being here, and he just started posting again after a long absence.

I think religious people should take the opportunity to sharpen their apologetics skills and learn how to defend their faith. It can only benefit them, not to mention, critics will take you more seriously.

I for one am glad Atheist are here. I used to come to RF to debate atheist and other faiths, now I am a non-believer! It took me about 2 years, but I finally crossed over to the land of rational thought. Thank you RF atheist!

I don't think anyone sets out to convert someone from theism to atheism, but if you were helped along your path for knowledge, then all the better.

Congrats on your newfound position regarding God.

DAMN!!

I knew the board of directors was holding out on me!!

Of course, I don't normally carry my Non-Believers of the US card in my wallet.

You ought to. Auto got a microwave, and I got a fine set of cutlery and a leather jacket. Take advantage of that rewards points system.
