Why do christianity get so much hate?

Starlight

Spiritual but not religious, new age and omnist
Does it really?
I was a Christian and generally ignore it now, I do not hate it.
The only exception is when Christianity tries to tell me what I should be doing, ie Abortion, euthanasia, same sex marriage, etc.
If it stays out of politics, doesn't try to influence me, it will just pass me by.
Yes it really does. christian worldwide get much hate

Well thats wrong. Christians do get worse treatment in general

Every religious group has had persecution against it at one point or another in the world. This isn't unique to Christianity. Can you compare the above articles to, say, the religious uprooting of indigenous spiritual practice in the Americas? Christianity still exists, where only small pockets of people exist who know the story of raven stealing the sun. The comparison seems a little lopsided to me

No persecution is good, but christianity isn't receiving worse persecution than any other religious group out there from what I've seen

Many religions is against gay marriage and abortion so why are you only against christians?

Hate? Christianity is the most popular religion on the planet. With fame comes a bigger target for criticism, but Christians aren't getting worse treatment in general than observers of any other religion, seems to me. Still a popular and well loved religion

Well it is not only christians who is against gay marriage. Many religions is against it.
But in USA, Christianity is the Big Dog.
And it imposes a level of theocracy upon us.
So it gets the attention.
And by the way many christians is not against gay marriage, many curches is open to all no matter if you are gay or not
Some are.
Some aren't.
The ones who oppose it inspire the hatred.

I'm not arguing in favor of the hatred.
Just answering the question of why.

Why do christianity get so much hate? It is really frustrating. I am not a christian but I think about christians that get hate just because of the religion they are following. It is so sad

Preaching love your neighbor when in real life they mean love other Christians but not anyone who is different or who doesn't worship their god in the same way, or woe betide those who don't worship any god.

I've seen Christians pouring hatred on other Christians because they use a different version of the bible and interpret it differently.

Personally i think they earn it by allowing or ignoring the horrendous acts of a small minority acting in what that minority consider is the word of their god

Aye. And while many Christians aren't
hate filled, as a group, it exudes hatred
towards, gays, trans, Muslims, atheists,
& even other Christian sects.
The instruction to do so is right in
the book.

And while they can dodge such as the
"Flood" baloney as figurative, theres
nothing figurative about bible
hate - talk toward such as me and thee.

I didnt start it, and they sure have not
stopped the condemning.

Fortunately, many Christians manage
to become good people despite their
religion. Same for Jews & Muslims.
In my family, all 3 are represented.
Although atheists predominate.

I dont think it really does.

I think theres a body of christians hyper- tuned
to any hint* so they can claim persecution and
maybe even the glory of martyrdom.

* much like the sjw of divers ilk.

The hate will likely exist as longs as there are
hateful groups representing Christianity, eg,
Westboro Baptist Church, Christian Dominionists.
I know it's not fair to all Christians.
Westboro is just some tiny cult with maybe a few dozen members. To say that they represent even American Christianity is rather ridiculous.

Almost all religions oppose those things.
