Why Do Theists Believe In God?

Some people see gratitude to parents through god. It is through god to whom they are grateful to their parents. God let's them be thankful to all people, self, and god because the love and connection (and bahaullah) etc they experience to navigate life. It's the motor of their gratitude.

People have preferences and some feel the need of god that others without god don't need. I'm not a god believer but one thing I know god changes their life. I'm more concerned with how they choose to express their love rather than question the love itself.
Does God really make one love other human beings?

It can, if you see humanity as an expression of the divine nature of "God". And you see that divine nature as being transcendent, and benevolent.
Why would you assume that when humanity is only 100,000 years old when the universe consisting of living beings is at least 1.5 billion years old nothing of which was divine in content as we see from the horrendous dinosaurs that existed. Why would God suddenly create human beings with a divine nature of love?

All of existence can be seen as an expression of the transcendent and the divine. But to see it this way, we have to be willing to look for it. We have to be open to the idea. It's an act of faith.

That's what abrahamic religions say. He loves all people who accept him. The idea is if you dont accept him, you dont want to be his child. So, there is no reason to love you unto salvation because you willingly reject his offer. Kinda like a parent giving a child a Christmas present and when the child is free to say no, the parent reprimands him because he feels he has the right as a parent to do so since his child didnt accept the gift.

Some say this is love, to accept the gift out of obligation to god.

I'm finding it difficult to do so honestly in one word. What is the point of this exercise?

Faith in God: How have you tested that that faith is justified?

That is a complex question that needs considerable discussion.

I don't think it has much of a connection with matters of belief in God, personally.
People assume that it has nothing to do with matters of belief in God: I think the answer is very simple. It goes like this All living beings have to survive in a natural world full of obstacles that poses dangers to ones survival. For the theist the only question is can God help the theist survive more so than he can the atheist.

How can one tell whether salvation comes to a person who simply accept Him as a God rather than do other things that He approves of?

I think it's supposed to be one word in totality, not one word per post...
I'm sorry... I just got so excited since it is Christmas time, I just couldn't help myself! :D

It's like God, who does exceedingly abundantly more than what we could ever hope for or even ask. There is just "more" that what we ask for. :)

Merry Christmas to all and to all a "Good night"!
