Why does God not talk to us?

Personally I think I would like to buy Cloacina, the goddess of the sewers a drink (and hope she showers beforehand.) I mean, geez, what an absolute **** job.

Some Roman gods and goddesses were truly down to earth.

Anoia is a goddess of the diskworld

I can recommend a good supplier of nose plugs.

Why does God act as if he is non existent?

I believe the Bible could answer your question:

Isaiah 59:2 New International Version (NIV)
But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.

There is a strong tendency to anthropomorphize. There is also a strong tendency to blame, to hide behind the choices of others and to expect others to do things for us. Like dogs we want someone to be in control. At the same time we want the opposite. We want evil to be vanquished and pain to decrease. God wants none of these things for God is not physical or detectable. God is unchanged when your leg gets broken or your day goes badly. I am changed, and I am touched by your pain. Believing in God is therefore a choice which involves choosing to care, not a rational process.

So, god is much-much weaker than us humans?

Who can not only overlook "sin" in others, but can see past the surface dirt, and find the good that is deep within?

That means humans are not only stronger than your god, but nicer and more compassionate too.

Whatya know?

In my opinion, Jesus reveals Himself to anyone who asks. He promises that if you seek, you will find. It sounds like you are seeking!

Well, opinions are like burps-- everyone does it, but it's usually a good idea to keep it secret.

As for your claim about jesus "revealing himself"? Well... there are nice drugs that have the exact same effect. Whatya know?

Moreover, there are people (such as myself) who were raised in christianity from birth, who truly sought out this jesus character for most of their existence, only to realize it was all a big lie...

Care to offer up another burp opinion?

C.S. Lewis compared God, or at least the Word/Logos of God, to the Tao.

Now, why does God not talk to us now, you ask?

Well, why don't animals talk to us anymore? It's because on a primal level, we've lost the sense of belonging in the natural world. Why does God talk to us anymore? Well, he could, but we'd have to be prepared to listen to God through three main sources:
  1. Dreams
  2. Symbols
  3. Other people
Dreams are a very real one, we can sleep and awaken with a new idea.

Other people are a key way God speaks to us, but we overlook this, because we think that God only appears in clouds or pillars of fire. This is incorrect. God speaks to us all the time, although it's a matter of testing what is really being said.

https://924jeremiah.wordpress.com/2...-god-is-speaking-to-you-through-someone-else/

So what about the last of mine? Symbols? Well, funny story. I was working at Amazon and my sister calls me one night asking for me to go to the store and get chicken. But not just any chicken, she wants pre-baked rotisserie chicken. Only it was a different place than all the others, and I had passed it somehow. She finally calls me up and says, "sorry, I don't need it, if it's gonna take all night to find." The next day at Amazon, I'm shelving, and I discover a movie called (wait for it...) Wild Goose Chase.

The point is, just as humans are cut off from the Tao, and can't talk to forest creatures, so also, we are cut off from directly seeing a conversation with God as what it is.

God is what we understand God to be. If we derive meaning for existence by using the metaphor of “God,” isn’t that what God is for us?
Well that's a loose enough definition of god for it to be anything.
So, if that rocks your boat, fair enough. It does nothing for me. I could just as easily say that The Flying Spaghetti Monster is existence.

And there are quite a few indigenous religions that make use of those drugs.

God is as perfect a Being as it gets.

Being Omniscient, He alone can know Justice perfectly by the weight of an atom.

Being the Omnipotent Lord, and the Origin and Support of everything. There is nothing He needs or loses.

He was complete in Himself requiring nothing before Creating anything.

Yet He accepts you if you wish to open yourself up to Him. Just think about it.

You and me just a puny powerless creature to Him, who is inconceivably inferior to Him before His Divinity, Majesty and Supremacy.

As the Omnipotent Lord He may Sustain an Infinite number of universes.(mace of Vishnu) But you'e still His creature and are dear to Him.(same Vishnu holds the lotus in His hand)

It is not fair if He just loves you and you don't love Him back.

Believe in yourself. Believe in attaining unity with Him. Believe that you and God are never far apart and can attain closeness through mutual effort, deliberate conscientious effort.

Many great men have "heard" the Lord. The Supreme Intelligence guiding them. They are known as the Rishis.

As the sustained creature you are just a shadow of your Sustainer. So you are never far away from Him.

Cooler than most of you
Sandals only really godly people wear sandals. Saint Francis went without shoes. Beach flip-flops probably are legal with God I haven' asked lately on shoes. God is very benevolent and easily changes with the times as required. as long as you send Joel osteen Minty money all is good with God.

And yet Crocs are heretical no matter what your faith. Go figure...

There's a clue in the question...God doesn't exist.

Yes, He does. He can be summoned, generated, revived. Just because you don't see Him doesn't mean He doesn't exist. You are simply blind.

On one hand it can be argued that He doesn't always exist but must be summoned.
