In case I wasn't clear. Hardship and suffering isn't necessary for it all to workout; it just is. Knowing future events doesn't make you the creator of them. Allowing it to continue I can see you not grasping but contradictory? I just don't see it.

Because every work of fiction needs a bad guy.... The people who wrote the book conveniently needed a bad guy to keep the masses loyal out of fear. It's one thing to threaten someones life, but when you tell them if they don't do what you say because God will throw them into a lake of fire for eternity.... Well you kinda get the picture I'm trying to paint here.
Like God, Satan and his hell as well are a creation of man and the punishment part of the religious oligarchy for those who may stray away or question their authority. This fear of Satan leads to some pretty wacky things like burning people at the steak because you think the invoke hellish powers....
The very fact it is claimed that God is all powerful yet needs a hell for sinners just shows why the biblical God and Satan aren't really entities but instead rather part of an early complex totalitarian system which people used to manipulate and control others.
It's not the rivalry that God and Satan supposedly had that leads me to this so much as to why there is such a rivalry and why a supposedly all powerful being doesn't seem to interested to stop it.
Satan will never be defeated, nor will he ever win.... This was done by design so that there would always be a way to leverage the fear people have in their minds. Neither one really exists and the story of their rivalry is so 'human' that I have a hard time trying to believe that Satan or God were anything more than creations of their time and people there of.

It could be that God is simply a metaphor for "Good", while the Devil (Satan) is simply a metaphor for "Evil". Both of which are dependent upon the subjective experiences of man, so it is quite likely that the term God derived from the creative and pleasant aspects of life, whereas the opposite is true for the Devil. Both good and evil exist in the hearts and minds of mankind only. We are the vessels through which these two opposing "forces" operate, and it is through our actions that they are released upon mankind. :run:

IF you truly wish to define Evil, it is not within Satan. Nor is Good within the Christian God.
On the other hand, good and evil are labels used to separate both of these personal terms.
One is considered 'evil', because of their opposition towards each other. It is common among people to shun an aspect of life. Yet a higher being is over looked upon our reflection. As the Mass has twisted and narrowed perception to their benefit.
Is it beneficial to be 'evil''?
Or more like being misunderstood, intolerant and incompetent. Or driven to destroy 'evil', when all evil is in opposition of you. Is this not dominance?
Christianity's mass is overwhelming. Yet they are dictative and perception altering, not only to the physical realm, but also the Absence.
The 'truths' are written by the victors. Written by the people who have succeeded in overcomming their foe, their challenger, their heretics, the indifferent, and their Advesaries.
Yet what makes their Justification truth?
As all things witnessed are peceived.
Satan is literal for the meaning of Opposition and Advesary.
As all 'Gods' have provoke opposition of an aspect.

I find it fascinating when people share their ancient, tribal superstitions. On the other hand, it is somewhat disturbing to realize that people who think in this way are active in the modern world.
