It is wrong with anyone, but since others don't believe in sin, then it couldn't be considered a sin. Just rather unethical.

Yes, I suppose I failed at getting my intent across. What I meant to say was this: If it is your intent to have Jewish DNA, then DNA that is not Jewish taints the DNA.
Look, I really don't really care if people want to have interracial marriages. I'm just saying that I think its sinful. It is not the gravest of sins, but sin nonetheless, in my opinion. And that's it. It's not up to you. It's my belief, and I'm entitled to it. I'll believe what ever I believe. Your opinion is moot with regard to my opinion.
It was also Goering's opinion (and he was entitled to it) that Jews weren't worth living, so he killed six million of them. See what "just my opinion" can do?Saying "it's just my opinion and I'm entitled to it" just comes off as defensive whining. You have not offered a real reason why you think it's a sin. You haven't backed up your opinion at all.
Where does Genesis 6 mention DNA at all? It says that the wickedness of humans is what caused God to send a flood, not their DNA. If you're making reference to the Nephilim as hybrids between humans and fallen angels, how is that remotely the same as humans of two different races reproducing? Do you think a biracial human more likely than a person of pure race to sin?God destroyed the entire world with a flood because of flawed DNA (Genesis 6)
I am a Baptist and I don't believe it's a sin. I think you'd better check your facts before you judge us. The other Baptists I know (and since I am one, I know a lot)don't believe it is a sin.
Did I judge all Baptists?
I don't think I did.
I said the majority of people I know that think like this ARE Baptists.
And it's kind of funny that there are over 500 types of Baptists...
Seeing as how there are only a few hundred thousand Baptists world-wide.
But that's great that you don't know any Baptists like that...
However, 9/10 of the Baptists I know DO think like that.
Not ALL Baptists of course though but then again, I never said that.
You must know different kinds of people than I know, because I never met a Baptist who thought like that.

That sounds exactly like the last church I went to. And I've known Baptists from other churches like that. For having a command of "judge not" they seem to be one of the most judgmental prone denominations out there.Unfortunately, I have.
I was raised Southern Baptist, and the majority of it's adherents seemingly believe what the thread is about, plus more.
-Mixed marriage are a sin.
-Mixed children are a product of sin.
-Feminism is one of the worst things in the world.
-However, homosexuality is worse.
-Baptists are the only ones who got it right (not those Methodists down the street; and certainly not those Catholics!).
Just to name a few.

I'd like to repeat that I've known a lot of Baptists, including Southern Baptists and the ones I knew didn't hold that view- in fact, I've seen a lot of interracial couples in the Churches I went to. So, with that in mind, maybe it is a part of the area they were raised in and not a Baptist belief (as someone else pointed out). I went to more than one kind of Baptist Church: 1st Baptist, Free-Will Baptist, Southern Baptist. The Church I go to now used to call itself Baptist but changed it's name so it would be more non-denominational.
This is the last in this thread I will say about it since it is somewhat off-topic.
How is it off topic? It's exactly what this thread is about.
Establishing which groups think like this (predominantly) and which don't is important to the topic of this thread but anyways....
You're from California, right? Are you originally from the South where most Baptists reside? Ya know, from West Virginia/Virginia and down....
I agree though. A big part of it has to do with where they live but we can't throw out the fact that MOST Baptists are in the Southern states (the confederate states) and MOST of them, as pointed out by other members' experiences...
Tend to think like this unfortunately. Not all, but most..
I wonder if this accounts for the discrepancies of our past experiences? My last church was lead by a guy who came from Arkansas, and he had the zeal that Southern Baptists pastors are known for. And some of his sermons did mention that Methodists, Catholics, Pentecostals and everybody has a wrong interpretation of the Bible and they are all going to hell.I'm from Colorado. But, when I was in the Navy, I was stationed in Virginia and I didn't see that attitude there, either. I went to more than one type of Baptist Church there. I've never went to Church in the deep South.

I am a southern Baptist and have never ever heard of anyone who believes that. There are two schools in southern Baptist history. One is old school but a minority which may believe that interracial relationships are wrong because their history goes back to a time period that was more publically racist in the old south. It has nothing to do with the bible. The latter southern Baptists are the far more prevalent and I have never met one that held that view. That sounds exactly like the last church I went to. So you were probably in the Hampton Roads area?
Maybe Norfolk, Newport News, one of those places?
I'm from Richmond, VA but grew up in Eastern Virginia.
You were fortunate enough to be in one of the most laid back areas of the state.
Go anywhere West of Richmond or South (including all of the states below minus certain areas of Florida) and 99% of the Baptists there have these views.
I doubt very seriously that 99% of Baptists anywhere have that view. If you would have said 10% or maybe even 50%, I might not have doubted it. But that's my opinion.
