You believe your (underinformed) interpretation of the Bible.I Just believe the bible.
You’re not “actually reading” it. You’re reading a particular translation of it.Yes the Quran, Mormonism , Jehovah’s witnesses, Atheists, ect all claim the bible has been corrupted to one degree or another. Yet those that actually read it and believe it see no corruption.
I trust the bible when it says God's word will be preserved . I believe God chose the language of the day to reach the widest audience . Today that would be English . And yes we can check ourselves today with many aids and tools like lexicons, ect .It’s because of them that you have a bible to read. Otherwise, you’d be trying to decipher Greek texts, written in all caps, with no punctuation or spacing between words, no chapter and verse divisions. And Hebrew is worse; there were no vowels.
Sorry, you are still blind. You never needed "salvation". Nor did you get it. That concept was just a useful tool.If I was blind like you falsely say then I wouldn’t have needed salvation.
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),”
Ephesians 2:1-5 NKJV
It’s not “history,” though, as we understand history. That’s the dif. Our history relates facts. Ancient history wasn’t so concerned with fact as it was with telling a story with a particular spin. Kind of like Faux News. There's some useful corroborate information found in history , yes . But we see crucifixion taking place in the bible. Its a historical account , yes.
Yes in English ,which i trust the Kjv above others as faithfully translated. I can check the verses myself using various software tools ect . To satisfy any questions I may have .You’re not “actually reading” it. You’re reading a particular translation of it.
Every time you deny that others know far more than you ever will about this subject you not only fail as a Christian, you shoot yourself in the foot since we are supposed to be having a rational discussion. Each time you say " scholars ' im slightly embarrassed for you . You give over your sense making to others so readily .
...which were produced by ... scholars, whom you dismiss.I trust the bible when it says God's word will be preserved . I believe God chose the language of the day to reach the widest audience . Today that would be English . And yes we can check ourselves today with many aids and tools like lexicons, ect .
1) The KJV is no longer the most accurate translation. There are newer translations that were able to take advantage of older texts than the KJ <ahem> scholars had access to.Yes in English ,which i trust the Kjv above others as faithfully translated. I can check the verses myself using various software tools ect . To satisfy any questions I may have .
Again " the scholars " , I bet you think the ' majority ' is the rule also lol1) The KJV is no longer the most accurate translation. There are newer translations that were able to take advantage of older texts than the KJ <ahem> scholars had access to.
2) Those various software tools were written by ... scholars.
Too bad that you do not understand what an appeal to authority fallacy is.Scholars , scholars, scholars, appeals to authority, seems to be a fixation here . Do you pick the scholars that support what you believe? The ones with the best suits ? the ones with a bow tie ? Do you consult these scholars to help you decide which breakfast cearel to eat ?
This is what I like to call “The Kindergarten Fallacy,” otherwise known as “LALALALALALALALA.... I’M NOT LISTENING!!!Every time you deny that others know far more than you ever will about this subject you not only fail as a Christian, you shoot yourself in the foot since we are supposed to be having a rational discussion.
" But honey I do love you , the scholars told me so "1) The KJV is no longer the most accurate translation. There are newer translations that were able to take advantage of older texts than the KJ <ahem> scholars had access to.
2) Those various software tools were written by ... scholars.
You brought them up in this instance, not me. If you’re relying on a concordance or lexicon, or other resource material, you’re relying on scholars.Again " the scholars " , I bet you think the ' majority ' is the rule also lol
LOL!! You are saying that people that are willing to fool themselves can't understand the Bible.Yes the Quran, Mormonism , Jehovah’s witnesses, Atheists, ect all claim the bible has been corrupted to one degree or another. Yet those that actually read it and believe it see no corruption.
But the German scholars told me that the jews were inferior, I was just following that Hitler fellow ,he said the scholars ....Too bad that you do not understand what an appeal to authority fallacy is.
I pick scholars that can honestly support their claims. I doubt if you can do the same.
It appears emotion and irrational thought is all that you have. Cowardice is not a winning strategy. It is time to quit running sway.
Do you know what a strawman argument is? It is a form of lying. Where does the Bible allow that?" But honey I do love you , the scholars told me so "
We are not amused. You’re relying on the scholars you dismiss, you aren’t even aware of it, and you can’t admit your whoopsie. Every time you pick up a bible, a lexicon, a concordance, a commentary, a dictionary, an encyclopedia, you’re relying on scholars." But honey I do love you , the scholars told me so "
Once again, a strawman argument is a form of lying. But the German scholars told me that the jews were inferior, I was just following that Hitler fellow ,he said the scholars ....
