Why I CANNOT Believe in The Resurrection

John1.12

“God breathed” is poetry. God didn’t write the Bible. Yes, I’ve read it, studied it formally in seminary, taught it, written papers on it, and some of my materials published as part of a scholar’s reference work on the Gospels. Still a Christian — member of the clergy, in fact.
This verse explains quite plainly

2 Timothy 3:16

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

The worst way to learn the bible is formally and through seminary . Most errors are regurgitated at these cemeteries, sorry I meant seminary.

And, due to the date of Timothy, it cannot be referring to any of the NT texts, because none of them were, as yet, included in a canon. So Timothy excludes all the Greek texts as “inspired.” That’s why it’s such poor practice to allow the Bible to be its own authority.

Where does it say that in the Bible? Paul, however, learned formally, as did most Judaic boys of the period.

And yet here we have Timothy included in out NT . How about that .

I will give God the respect to differ with you on this . I believe he purposed to have written what he meant to say and say what he meant.
Your claim is refuted by the roughly 40,000 sects of Christianity. The differences between any two can be almost nonexistent, but one can go from one extreme to another using rather small steps.

This is an example of you not understanding the Bible by trying to get it to say what you want it to say. The author of Timothy was referring to the Old Testament there. The New Testament did not exist at that time. He could not have been referring to it.

There were several things in science that we now know are true that previously the majority ' refuted ' . Apologies were given later .

Yes, science has a self correcting mechanism. The Bible does not. We know that there was no Flood of Noah, and yet the myth is still in the Bible.

By the way, that does not help you. Most of those sects will say that you are wrong. In fat almost all of them will, but they will say that you are wrong in different ways.

This is why one needs more than a "natural reading' that only appeals to your own person prejudices.
