And neither is acting gay. The only "sin" I see in discussions like this is bigotry.

It never went beyond being a very poor excuse for discrimination against homosexuality. If even that.
I honestly fail to see why it would support segregation.
Does it? I don't understand what you mean here.
I don't know about this.
And I'm sure this would vary regarding where in the world you live.
In the UK, for example, we always hear about how we "need" more women in politics. This type of view would then be followed by a rapturous applause and large approval.
I don't understand how forceful desegregation allows a particular group to suddenly become qualified for a certain position.
Very few religions actually even mention homosexuality or distinguish it from heterosexuality.
In alot of the major religions being gay is a sin. Now , this makes zero sense to me , because first off there is no reason and second gays are born that way , so did God create them just so they can burn in hell ? I have heard the reason is that gay sex spreads Diseases , but so does heterosexual sex. So why do you punish people for the way they were born ?
I think the witness of gays of their love is lacking. Nothing precludes setting up a religion in which being gay is righteous.

Some ancient Greek philosophers proclaimed that male homosexuality was the highest form of love.
Nothing precludes people from rejecting disrespectful religions, either. Or from learning better, from daring to actually improve their own religious practice.
Apparently it was not very convincing for people.
You and me both, brother.Indeed. I completely reject religious homophobia as the bigotry it is, and hope for a more enlightened approach in the fullness of time.

It didn't really go challenged either. Homosexuality wasn't a moral concept in pre-Christian Europe.
You should show homosexuality is religiously vindicated.

Men dominating society is not a healthy state.
Men who do not conform in such a society are viewed as subversive to the dominant men.
I'm bisexual, so I am hardly endorsing this.
The Romans and Greeks felt homosexuality was irrelevant if you had a Woman who gave you children too, hopefully sons. Forsaking women would be unthinkable in that society. You *had* to have a beard, even if you didn't need to be in the closet.
That's the thing- it's not. The closest I can think of it ever being vindicated is in some mythologies where the gods have homosexual relationships. Apollo is very well known for having male lovers in Greek mythology.
