Well then there you have it. People could make religions choosing to vindicate homosexuality, they choose not to.

Maybe it is because for heterosexuals it is a sin to engage in homosexuality, that religion generally condemns homosexuality.

Heterosexuality isn't really vindicated in most polytheistic religions either.

In my religion, homosexuality was considered just as bad as heterosexuals having sex outside of marriage. I think this problem can be solved by allowing homosexuals to be married!

I think it will be a long time before Hinduism recognizes, not to mention performs same sex marriages not because Hinduism is homophobic, it's not, but because Hinduism is pro-procreation and pro-family. Look at the importance placed on family relationships. Strangely, I don't see that as a contradiction. When it becomes clear and common practice that same sex couples can create families, whether through surrogacy or adoption, and it becomes established, I think that's when Hinduism will give its blessing to same sex marriages.

I even think its absurd that many religious people call it 'unnatural'. Well, it's a product of nature so it's clearly natural.

This. And for that reason, polyester not being a product of nature is clearly unnatural. I think it's a worse sin than homosexuality could ever be.

Apollo is very well known for having male lovers in Greek mythology.

So much so that Apollo and Zephyrus vied for Hyacinth, to the point of Zephyrus killing Hyacinth out of jealousy. Heracles and Hylas was a bromance on steroids. And then we have Zeus and Ganymede too.

Perhaps because they saw no need?

That is an incredibly silly thing to think, though.

There is a lot of witness about heterosexuality that might lead them to be convinced otherwise.

I am not sure if the same can be said for homosexuality.

I just don't understand. What do you mean by "witness"? And why would hetero or homosexuality even be of religious significance?

Among many others. I think the main thing some aren't understanding is that sexuality/orientation isn't a moral concern in most polytheistic religions. It seems to be a very simple concept but some just don't understand it.

In alot of the major religions being gay is a sin. Now , this makes zero sense to me , because first off there is no reason and second gays are born that way , so did God create them just so they can burn in hell ? I have heard the reason is that gay sex spreads Diseases , but so does heterosexual sex. So why do you punish people for the way they were born ?
There are many cultures which haven't historically had any problem with same sex relationships. Ancient Chinese, for instance. And here in the US, Native American's have a history of "two spirit" unions, where two spirit people were actually revered. Inasmuch as many religions are about separating people into groups, perhaps it's just something that others were doing that Abrahamic followers wanted to separate themselves from. As far as god creating them that way, I think that's rather a self answering question. Any god concerned with a state of perfection wouldn't have created mistakes.

If the jesuit law forbade homosexuality based on "family values" and procreation concerns, then why was it not forbidden to lie with the barren? Or the elderly? Or children who are too young to bear children?

Interesting to note that here in the US, many of those leaving religion cite views on homosexuality (among other social issues) as the reason. Since apostasy is not a capital crime in the Western world, it's very likely that the dominant version of the Abrahamic religion in this part of the world is undergoing change spurred by this issue.

Hyacinth was mainly Spartan. Spartans were considered uh... nuts, in the ancient world, for their views on heterosexuality.

Why don't you just refer to some witness like romeo and julliet is held out as convincing witness for heterosexual love.

Homosexual couples say it is great to be with each other as well. What is the difference?

If they would say that, then that is what leads to acknowledgement in religion. And there already is acknowledgement in religion for that reason. But IMO it is the witness which lags behind, not the acceptance.

That may be true for some religions... but is it relevant? Why would such witness (although I'm still uncertain of what it is) be necessary?
