Why is there no Prophet of our time?

I don't believe there are any prophets today in the biblical sense of a prophet who foretells future events because the main objective of the prophets was to point to the coming of the Savior and final Prophet Jesus Christ which has occurred along with providing information concerning the restoration of the nation of Israel, end time events, and the return of Christ, all of which is already included in the cannon of scripture. No further prophetic information is necessary and anything anyone now attempts to add, I believe is extra-biblical and heretical.
