He hates everything. How good we have so many threads about himI have heard Pat Condell speak many times. He absolutely detests Islam. He hates the ideas that Islam enshrines. He hates Islam's intolerance of nonMuslims. He hates Islam's misogyny, it's homophobia. He hates Islam's anti-semitism. He hates the fact that Islam calls for theocratic rule.
None of this has to do with Arabs. It has to do with ideas.
(What is a bad atheist like??)I believe atheism is all about drugs and alcohol, because Islam is against drugs and alcohol.

I love to hear people talk about the things they hate like they weren't talking to talk about themselves mostly.
Especially I just love spreading hate. It really brings out the best in the world.
"In your face" how, exactly?I get you, and usually I agree. AND, this is a really tricky situation this whole Islam thing. Because really it boils down to how to deal with intolerance when you encounter it. Are we supposed to tolerate intolerance?
Islam comes to me, I don't go looking for it. It's in my face. It's an intolerant ideology. I worry for my daughters' futures. Am I supposed to tolerate Islam's systemic intolerance? I don't think that's right, do you?
"In your face" how, exactly?
First off, I have some of the same issues with Christians. That said..
A significant percentage of Muslims support and or pursue (directly or indirectly):
- bringing blasphemy laws into secular countries
- bringing aspects of Sharia into secular countries
- indoctrinating hundreds of millions of children with a misogynistic, homophobic, anti-semitic, theocratic, intolerant ideology
- committing human rights abuses through much of the world
- undermining the pursuits of good education for all
- attempting to curtail free speech
- and so on.
Of course not all Muslims do this. But enough do, that they're having a negative impact on the world.
(What is a bad atheist like??)
And you're worried about the future of the world after lets say 100 years from now that
Islam would still be existing or you wish to leave this world seeing Islam has vanished?
There are many problems we need to fix:
- global warming
- the oligarchy
- intolerance
Religious fundamentalism exacerbates all of those problems. I would like to see religious fundamentalism be on the decline. It would be great if the world's major religions could be reformed. IMO an essential first step is to be honest about the nature of the messages in these major religions. One such crucial message is that the Quran is a seriously flawed, intolerant book. We should stop pretending otherwise.
You think that Islam and the quran is the source of trouble in this world?
Please read my posts more carefully. I think Islam and the Quran are one of the sources of trouble in this world. There are many, but Islam is on the list. So is Christianity BTW. So are greedy oligarchs. So are corrupt politicians. And so on.
So which to blame, religion or people, since people will look for trouble regardless of reasons.
For now, thinking only of Islam and Christianity we have maybe 50% of the world's population. We know that young children are very impressionable. It's easy to get them to believe stuff. The Bible and the Quran are both very old books. Ideas that were good long ago are no longer good, and some of them are bad. For example, 2000 years ago or 1400 years ago, it was a good idea for a tribe to have a lot of children. That is now a really bad idea. Human population explosion is the source of many of our biggest problems.
So when you tell hundreds of millions of children, ideas from 1400 years ago that are now bad ideas, you get bad results.
I guess I disagree that - in general - people will look for trouble. Some do, most do not.
And why do you think these books are dangerous?
Because:
- they promote intolerance of people from other "tribes"
- they suggest having more children, not fewer
- they are homophobic
- the bible at least hints that the earth is to be robbed of all of its resources
- they are misogynistic
- the quran at least suggests theocratic law
- they reward servitude before education
- the blble at least calls for inhumane and unhealthy treatment of animals
- they put people at odds with science
And on and on...
God bless him! He is brilliant. Having been a Muslim himself, he can put his money where his mouth is.Can this man possibly be right about Islam?
Throughout history, Islam has been conquering what it can. Egypt and the Middle East and Turkey used to be Christian countries. Muslims conquered the lands with the sword and crammed religion down everyone's throat. But that has nothing to do with Islam. You think that Islam and the quran is the source of trouble in this world?
The population of China is 1.4 billions, whereas Saudi Arabia 32 millions
Nuclear bombs in China abour 300 warheads, Saudi Arabia none
So who is more dangerous on earth?
