Why should cats be allowed to run free to kill birds and crap on my garden?

I keep my cat inside. I would never let any cat I own out. Thankfully she doesn't really care to go out.
I've owned indoor cats all my life growing up(obviously I can't have on in the group home so I dont). It prevents them from getting runovered. Also all the cats my family owns all are declawed(not my choice I hate declawing and view it as abuse you literally are removing the knuckle and setting the cat up for arthritis.) So they can die in the wild. When I get out the group home tho if I own a cat I might walk it outside on a leash. But I won't let them stay outside they'll be mostly indoor cats.

I just finished a garden project of a brick built planter,I filled it with compost and topsoil and started to plant herbs,to my horror there was a pile of cat crap on it.

I’ve had a run in with this cat already,I gave him a warning shot with a stone, slow to learn he will get a soaking when I next see him,I don’t see why cats are allowed out at all, they should be kept inside, agreed?.
You threw stones at a cat? Shame. You could have blinded it.

1. Cats should not always be kept indoors. They're predators. They're territorial. Especially the males, who can have ranges up to 5 miles.
2. If you wish to deter cats. Get a high frequency sonic deterrent device. Solar powered.
3. If I saw someone throwing stones at a cat. I'd consider that person a cowardly little sadist. Cats are ****ing amazing animals.

Why should I put myself out for someone who puts their cat out with the risk of being run over, crapping everywhere but where they live, spraying their sent,I don’t believe it’s right that I should,a good soaking is harmless and a good teacher for cats.

Yeah, it's as disgusting as debarking a dog, which is a thing, too.
So is clipping a bird wings. If you dont want to spend the time training the bird to fly within a certain area and letting them be able to spread their wings don't get a flying animal that needs a lot of space to fly and shouldn't be kept in a small cage all day. There's also folks who get little bowls for fish and wonder why their goldfish who can live for 20 years dies in less then a year. Folks need to actually do their research with animals on the best ways to care for them. And actually be ok with their animal behaving like that animal.

They're not expensive, these sonic deterrent devices. Under £10.
I'm not sure any of these things actually work. I was tempted to get one when I was feeding the birds a lot more and when cats were more likely to be invading my garden, but from what I came across there was little evidence that they did work. Perhaps I missed something though.

How come you object to the cat being free to crap in your garden but don't object to all the birds being free to crap in it? Would it make a difference if it was a wild cat rather than a domesticated one?

1) Have you noticed the difference between the poo sizes?
2) The cat is about to turn his garden into a litter box. Birds just poo, they don't look for a litter box.
3) Why would he even need a reason? It is his house. We don't get a saying in who is welcome and who is not in someone else's house.
