Why the HATE?

I have to say, I went to a public high school with a pretty large number of students, and didn't see the kind of constant mocking you're talking about. And this wasn't very long ago. My two siblings are currently attending the same high school, and they don't see it either.
Maybe your school just really sucks?
Or perhaps there's something you're doing (unintentionally, or without realizing it) that makes other people feel uncomfortable with your Christianity?
Seems to me that there is a group or two of bullies who want to push his buttons in order to get a rise out him. They happen to be using his beliefs to do so.

True,
I think it is not persecution towards Christians themselves, but persecution towards yourself that may be brought on by your attitude.
Although it is wrong to be bullied for any reason, and I do think the bullying needs to stop, I have yet to see a presentation of persecution in America against Christians as a group.

The bullies may not have any reason to be picking on him other than they get a rise out him.

Seems to me that picking on his beliefs gets a rise out him, so they pick on his beliefs.

Still, bullying sucks. What often works is that if a lot of people get together and agree to stand up to the jerks, instead of letting them pick on you one by one. Not just other Christians, but if they're calling other people names, Mexican kids, or gay kids, you could tell them you're on their side and ask them to stand up for you. Might help.

What I find most interesting is how much like FHH you sound in this particular post....

It is a style - voice if you will - that I lapse into at times. This time was deliberate but sometimes I do it w/o realizing it. Only the day after when editing do I realize I have done it. Quite annoying at times. Early indoctrination says with you - willing or no.:(

I dislike religions because of the things they advocate, and the tools that are used, but I would never hate someone because of their religion. As long as their search for happiness doesn't intentionally impede on someone else's, I am tolerant. I would only attack someone based on their beliefs if they were stepping on someone elses rights, freedoms, and happiness. I am respectful to people and to beliefs that show the same respect.

All people do is mock Christians in high schools. (Along with other groups, and religions, etc) And you people dont even admit that? You are not in the high schools. You do not know about it, and you even mock that I am not being attacked for being a christian, while I claim to be mocked

I am sorry about what is going on in your life. In my state there are laws against this type of thing. I would talk to a school counselor about it. Any type of bulling should not be tolerated. Please talk to an adult you trust in your school it might help.

I believe in Jesus Christ. In college, I learned about many different religions. Never once did I have HATE toward any other religion/deities. So why is it such a strong HATE towards Jesus Christ? Why the hostility? I will share why I think hate rears its ugly head anytime Jesus is brought up in a conversation with or around non believers. I think its because the truth hurts. I have noticed the same type of hate when the truth its revealed in other instances. One can talk about the Dalai Lama /Buddha/satan/atheists beliefs- all day around me. I believe every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is LORD. So I listen and ask my questions ( if speaking with ppl who believe different from me about religion) and move on with my life. I share my testimony, maybe a few verses, then I'm done. I do not intentionally INSULT their beliefs!

But others seem to get a raging attitude and have the most sarcastic, disrespectful and inconsiderate comments about Jesus Christ. They also seem to be eager to break my spirit or try to make me feel dumb about my beliefs!...keep in mind that i don associate with rude ppl on purpose..the rudeness is hidden until religion becomes a topic! Someone asked me at work "how do you deal with the stress of having 3 sons?" I answered.." I pray a lot and lean on Jesus for strength and wisdom"...you would have thought that I said "I kill babies with chainsaws and rape old women"...the look I was given said 1000 words...and I just could not understand why at the time.

Why the hate??? What is your opinion?:)

I can't approach some of the eloquence expressed in earlier posts responding to this OP, but the two bolded lines above indicate that you indeed ARE insulting other people and their beliefs, intentionally or not. My personal beliefs require no bending of knees, bowing, confessing or crawling, I stand on my own, and will be judged as appropriate after I die based on my own actions.

I would imagine that the animosity you feel is directed at your jesus is most likely directed more at christians/christianity as a whole, vice to the deity. Generally, I think that a very noisy, obnoxious, irritating and hateful group of people describing themselves as christian have, perhaps, co-opted the name of the religion and given every one of you (christians that is) a bad reputation to non-believers (as in non-christian) and even other christians (as in a different sect or worship group). Combine this bad reputation with statements like the bolded statements above and, well, it should be easy to see that people would take exception to the religion. One shouldn't necessarily feel that it is your deity that is disliked, though with some people I imagine that the strong dislike and/or contempt felt toward members of your faith could be expressed as animosity toward the deity.

Prayer has been banned from high school, and they are trying to ban the Pledge of Allegiance because it has 'God' in it. Bibles are not allowed to keep in your locker unless you are taking a class on religion.
Contrary to what you think, the laws separating religion from public school are PROTECTING you, not persecuting you. You are protected from a muslim teacher who decides one day that you should all bow to the east, or a Hindu teacher who won't let you eat meat at lunch. Keeping religion out of governmental organizations is not persecution. It is the best way to protect our children from religious instruction that does not come from home and the family.

Prayer has not been banned in school, students and teachers may themself pray, but a teacher cannot force the students to pray and vice versa. Nor can a public school lead religion based programs, but a student may organize one.

This is very very true and some people don't see the distinction. Mocking is an impolite form of criticism that may or may not be justified.

Verbal bulling, is bulling, it has no place in public schools. All children atheist,Christian, and Jew alike have the right to be safe in school. I know for a fact I could stop most of it. I wish teachers would at least try.
